USPS.......................again

Featured Replies

Redlinerobert sent me a crucial a week ago last Wednesday.  It never came.

This is the second rod they have ruined for me.  Robert mailed me back a Spidershaft I had left there, it was a special gift for a good friend and when it got here, the tip was broken off.  This rod is irreplaceable, they haven't sold them in 7 yrs  >:( >:( >:(

NOW,....Robert sends me a nice Shimano Crucial to use with these swimbaits and it didn't come broken, which would have been fine with the over the counter warranty,....no,....they don't even get the pieces to me,....they just kept this one.  Niiiiice.

Zero accountability to boot.  Can't tell you how let down I am.  I am way behind, money-wise, can't afford a rod to replace the saltwater boat rod I am using so this one goes up my butt sideways.

So, if you work for the USPS and you decided to do your Xmas shopping at work......Thanks! :(

You know thats gotta happen >:(

That sucks Russ >:(

Yea, They broke a rod I had ordered last year. Its real frustrating when your all excited about getting something new and It comes in broken.  >:(

That is why I ship everything UPS insured, and rods go in a PVC tube.  Not bashing anyone mailing rods and such, but USPS Sucks at delivering packages, especially ones that are not normal size.

As I post this, I am forwarding an email to one of my best friends, he is a big shot with the post office.  Letting him know AGAIN, how badly they suck and why they lose business to UPS, FED X and others.

Fishbear, be careful who you make angry. They call it 'going postal' for a reason.

That sucks.

LBH, None of these packages were insured?

That's what I was thinking, also.

Insurance is mandatory... with ANY carrier these days.

There is an easy way to correct problems with the delivery of mail from the USPS. I was told by a postal carrier that I know if you are having problems and they are not getting it addressed to your satisfaction then call your congressman's office and file a complaint. The USPS does not want to let problems get to this level since they can get asked to come to Capital Hill to defend the problems and their service that they provide. I recently contacted my congressman because I found my mail down at the end of my street in someone's lawn (I have a locking mailbox) which is due to the mail carrier messing up. I was concerned because one of them was a credit card bill and the envelope had been opened. Needless to say I have to closely monitor my credit report now.  I have had mail missing each month for the last six months so they forced me to take it to that level.  The day I filed the complaint I had my neighbors mail in my mailbox.

They do not have to operate at a level to profit,.....with that said,....noone really cares,....losing a customer just means less work to them.

Insurance- No.  I'm on the receiving end though, it was a gift, I feel bad for Robert.  It's the thought that counts  :)

Ron- I'll check my neighbors truck,lol,....he fishes and may have thought that Santa came last night.  ;D

I feel your pain.

Your experiences are why my wife and I use a post office box and receive 95% of our mail in the POB.

When mailing valuable items and Christmas presents we use UPS.

Russ and Matt, you guys are fantastic. Never had a problem with UPS.

In fact, I sent the transducer back to Lowarance via UPS so when we called to find out what was going on we had the confirmed delivery date.

Seems the lady who handles returns had been out of the office for two weeks and the work just backed up.  But they found the transducer and are in the process of replacing it.

Thank goodness I had the sense to mail it via UPS.

:)

I've probably bought or sold 100+ rods and shipped with USPS and I've only had two broken, one coming, one going. (knock on wood)

Sorry for the bad luck LBH

Okay UPS boys, deliver your own mail. 8-)

My mail carrier is so lazy, if the garbage man leaves the tote too close to the mailbox, no problem, mail driver just goes around it. Leaves the mail the next day. If I have a package, he just pulls in the driveway and blows the horn until someone comes out.  Sheesh. Guy needs to work for a living.

The Postal Service is a semi-government organization....What do you expect? The government has no idea how to run things efficiently. ;D

But seriously, that sucks dude.

Sorry to hear that Russ and Robert. I've had too many problems with USPS, everything I send goes UPS.

As if there aren't at least two UPS horror stories for every USPS horror story.

I'm really ticked about this one. Russ needed a rod, and I wanted to give him one of my Crucials. Really sucks.

I've sent numerous rods this way before, haod one other issue with a broken GLoomis that I sold to a guy in TX. He even posted here I believe, since I paid him back all his money to make it right for him. >:(

I'm really sorry pal.

By the way, Gidget just told me that she saw a USPS worker fishing a local pond from the side of the street..... :D

Government must not like you guys.  I haven't had any terrible experiences with USPS. (yet)

The town I grew up in, we never had USPS problems. Since I have moved to Gastonia, PLENTY of issues. Now my carrier, she is great. She goes out of her way to try to make up for the issues we have had.

To my knowledge the Gastonia office I deal with has lost 1 piece of priority mail in its history, that was the title to my wifes car. A very nice lady found it in her front yard and called us. The person who sbs for our carrier, is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. When he is "on the job" we play this little game in our neighborhood where like santa claus, we drive around and leave presents for all our neighbors. We re-deliver the mail cause the dude can't read or something. Anyway, the good part is I have met most of my neighbors because of this.  We have even complained, had the postmaster over here call my home yet the dude still has a job.

Anyway...ranting over. I am sorry to hear about your loss here though. I can imagine I would be standing in the postmasters office with my face a deep shade of red if the same happened to me. Yeah FEDEX/UPS

You guys are making me nervous. I just ordered a pair of Costas with 580 glass lenses....................................
