Training is hard work!

Been training a new hire for the last couple of weeks.  I think I work harder training than I do when I'm just doing my usual job.

Hope he learns the job soon enough so I can start napping again.  ;)

Put 'em on a leash and sleep with one eye open.

I hate training new hires.  I can't surf the net near as much when I'm doing that.

I actually enjoy training so long as the person I'm training has a real interest in learning.  If they cop an attitude, than it stinks.

Burley it rains a few inches in a couple of weeks and you all have to go and hire someone to help out?  You have been napping. ;)

It shouldn't be too hard training someone to do "nothing."

I'm with you, Burley.

I don't mind training, but I can't stand it when a new hire won't ask questions, take notes, or act like he or she is interested. I despise retraining someone who wasn't interested from the beginning.

So you actually have to work?  Is this once out of 5 yrs?  Just do what they do here.  Throw them to the fire and hope they work out.

I do more before 5AM than most people do all day.

I have never trained anybody for a job but I help my friends and family with schoolwork because I'm a pretty good writer. I don't mind helping as long as they try to retain what I tell them and take the initiative to improve from what I tell them so I won't have to tell them again the next time. My roommate is terrible at this. He asks me to help him with his papers and then pretty much walks away while I revise instead of trying to get better by listening why I do what I do.

What do you do Burley?

Started training a 48 year old guy Monday to do my current position and do you think he wants to listen to me...no.  Does it help he has a CPA which seems to make him God...no.  But I cannot wait for him to take it over >:(

Pouring dropshots and jigheads don't count.

Maybe you should consider a part-time job interviewing potential new

hires at the local gentleman's club. I don't know much about the pay,

but the benefit package is pretty good.

;D ;D
