Great movie but I prefer The Third Man. Has the final scene Casablance wishes it had.

The ending was left open, because of the intrigue of the war still going on. It was obvious that Rick was in it for the long run, and they did it without any foolish sequels!

My favorite movie and actor of all time.  I have an original full sized movie poster hanging in my living room.  

Little known fact - The term "Rat Pack" is rumored to have been coined by Bogart's wife, Lauren Bacall, when she saw this group of red-eyed, tired, drunken friends after a five-night party binge in Las Vegas and stated that they looked like a "Rat Pack."

It is a great movie. A little side bar, there is a restaurant(s) in Mexico called Bogart's, a replication of Rick's American Cafe, costumes and all. Solid 5 star, wonderful experience.

Now that calls for a huge bowl of buttered popcorn, some adult beverages and the phone off the hook. Key Largo, haven't seen that one in years . I might have to make a trip to the video store.

Not speaking ill of Casablanca, great movie, in my all time top 10.  Just stating that the ending to the Third Man is probably movie perfection.  That uninterrupted shot of Anna Schmidt walking past Joseph Cotten is as close to perfection as film endings get.
