Featured Replies

Never seen it b4, but I picked up a 1/2 gal of Blue Bell Blackberry Cobbler.  This stuff is crazy good.  Highly recommended.

The best ice cream I ever had was Gelati, that was when I was in Italy, currently the Gelati served up in Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst Brooklyn , has been  my #1 for many years.

There was a place on Vanderbilt Ave.Brooklyn: Bose's Ice Cream Parlor, that rocked out great ice cream, until Mr. And Mrs.Bose closed it down.

There are very many, independent dairies all over the North East, that make really good ice cream.

The only thing Canada has better than us is Snow and Ice, and they can keep that &^@&^@ for themselves.

I used to manage a Marble Slab Creamery for 4yrs. It was a good thing that for the most part I don't eat ice cream that much. However getting it for free sure made it really hard to keep that up. I used to have fun making my own flavors of ice cream. However I never came up with anything that was any better then what we already offered.

Isn't Gelati different then ice cream?  And why are you even on this thread talking about ice cream, aren't you dieting?

Lost 9 lbs this week. Hey I can peek can't I. Same as when you were on that celibacy kick and went shopping for magazines all the time

True Gelati is an ice cream, made with all the same ingredients. If you get it in the Southern Part of Italy, it may be made with goats milk, and it's a lot creamier.

What most places in USA pass off for gelati, is more like something between Ices and Custard, about as Italian as Spaghetti O's

Ben and Jerry's Half Baked

There is a place in Fairbanks, AK called Hot Licks. I fell in love with their "Cinnamint" ice cream.

Ben and Jerry's Smores

End of Thread.

Home made and Hand cranked.  I always liked the use of goats milk.  Really gave the ice cream a really rich flavor.

A good homemade is hard to beat.  Especially using strawberry preserves as a added flavor.

Not truly an ice cream I wouldnt think, but Mayfields Snow Cream tastes soo much like true snow cream we make when/if we get a good snow.  Just a different consistency.

1. Homemade Icecream

2. Breyer's - Cherry vanilla

3. Blue Bell - Walnut pastacio

The Canadian ice cream I referred to was a mom & pop homemade operation and it was super. Single scoop about the size of a fist and half for a nickle, going back a few years............lol

I would imagine many of our Canadian forum members may disagree. Living within minutes of the Canadian border I can attest to some fantastic fishing, not to mention some of the most friendly people.

Haagen Daaz is my favorite store-bought.  However, fresh ice cream is better, and cold stone or marble slab will beat anything that has been packaged for grocers.  An italian family has a gelato parlor here locally, and it is great as well.

I'm a Chocolate Chip Mint fan and "Edy's Loaded" with chocolate chips and bits of brownies is pornographic.

My Dad's home made tops everything in my book. I have one that comes close but its not quite there.

Store bought, there's a mountain berry cobbler that I get from Sheetz but I can't remember who makes it.

Ah, true gelato is something I would like to try.
