Hurricane season is upon us

Do ya'll think S.Florida is going to get slammed this year?  I don't know how many "predicted" canes are supposed to hit but I have a strange tingle in my back that we'll get some nasty tropical storms.

Now is the time to start your generators, check your 1st aid boxes, gather your important papers/insurance policies and basically get off your arses and get ur crap together.

I used 3 of my wood storm panels to deck a 16' jon boat over the winter so I have to hit Home Depot for new plywood.   :'(

Yes, for sure.  :P

Don't know, they say this season should be "average". But they have been completely wrong with their predictions before.  ::)

We've been setting record highs already this summer. Last thing I want is the A/C to be out for a couple of weeks when the heat index is 110+ because of a hurricane.

I have a bad feeling about canes this year.  One of the key factors is high water temp.

us floridians know of the bad news that hurricane season can bring!!

i lived in s. fl for andrew,

and took all the onslaught of '04 (i believe), hurricane charlie and such... in orlando/oviedo area...

not looking forward to any hurricane seasons myself, and "hope" that this one wont be bad, but im not holding my breath.

The area of highest percentage for most likely to be hit by a hurricane is from Brownville TX to Pascagoula MS; second is the rest of the Gulf coast which happens to be the entire state of Florida.

I heard the other day that this is the start of another el nino year...  IIRC they are on a 4 or 5 year cycle.  Should up the count if it's true.

I'm hoping for low storm count for you guys on the coast, but lots of low pressure systems to bring us some relief from the drought.

So true. It's been just a little on the warm side this year.

Blvd is right....git 'r done NOW, don't wait.

M&M, i could'nt agree more; too many memories of Katrina still in my mind........

Yeah I don't want to end up living in dolphin stadium for 6 months

Well, I hate the storms for you, but a hurricane would be good for

the middle of the country about now. We need something to break

up the current configuration. Our last drought lasted three years

and ended two years ago. Still, we need this current stationary

weather pattern to be broken down soon.

I just  got a few more items last week, so we will be set. Let's hope for the best.
