Holy cow folks - my neck of the woods is getting hit by a heat wave.  Temps are in the mid-90's to over 100 degrees for the entire week.  Now that may not be all that hot to all you southerners, but that's really unusual for my area.  Last time we had weather like this was 15 years ago - and that was the low 90's.  And we don't get the thunderstorms like y'all do to cool things off!

Looks like we're gonna break a few records before the week's over.  

Send a little of it this way. We're only in the low 80's and the 60's at night.  I just read today there were 3,000 record lows set so far in July.

wait, thunderstorms are supposed to cool things off? Normally they just make the air feel like swamp balls around here.

This summer has been pretty cool for where I am in VA but it has definitely been getting hotter in the past week around here as well.

That's just crazy.

my mistake.  The only rain we get is a cold rain.  You guys... you get torrential downpours unlike no other!  I was in Florida and they were getting 9" of rain per hour!!

We'll get 9"... over the course of a month.  It's just a steady, constant drizzle.  ugh!

I'll take the heat, though.  We get 10 months of cold, damp weather and snow, so a few days of hot weather is doable.

Here in S.E. Michigan, we've had the second coldest summer on record. Our mean temperture is 7.5 degrees lower than normal. On the plus side, fishing has been great.

I thought you might change that.  Expecially after busitng Burley's chops a couple months back when he was complaining about the amount of rainfall he was getting.  

Or should I put it another way.  Oh nanny nanny boo boo!  If you haven't lived in Pheonix or Houston, then you don't know what it's like to live with constant heat.  You're just experiencing minor warmth.  Cowboy up dude!  

104 degrees now...the all time record high in over 118 years of record keeping!  

Ya, sure, other areas have days like this (it was 110 in Palm Springs today), but nearly every house and apartment in those areas have air conditioning.  Here, only 14% of homes have air conditioning.  Normal high this time of year is 81, that's why.

Worse yet, we haven't had any measurable rain since the beginning of June.  Again, extremely unusual. And now that's turned into a bad fire hazard.

It's been around one hundred around here for days! Our rain shuts off around April or May, and we won't see it again until October or November.

I hear we may have a cold snap Friday or Saturday with it only in the low 90's.

Here in Alabama, its been a surprisingly mild summer. Usually we are 100 or right around it throughout the summer, but this year really hasn't been that bad.

Can't believe only 14% of you guys up there have A/C!!!
