unidentified creatures

has anyone seen any unidentifiable creatures, like Bigfoot, or lake monsters?

i think i have! i was in my canoe, in 14 ft deep water(i checked after ward) and all the sudden, my boat lifted out of the water, the bow, from the starboard to port side of the boat. something had swam underneath by boat,  and lifted it

there are odd scratch makes on the bottom of the boat to,( not Marks from loading and unloading, these go side to side)

what could it be?( i weight 180 lbs, the boat is 20 lbs, and all my tackle put together is 10 lbs, so i don't think it was a turtle)

Had the same thing happen on the last float trip I was on. Jostled all my beer all over the floor of the canoe and caused me to spill my current open beer all over myself....... gravel bars..... who put those in the river anyway?

WHATEVER you do, DO NOT I repeat DO NOT fish in the vacinity of such obstructions! I hear it contributes to adult onset diabetes and pancreatic cancer :P

I think you're full of it.

Something gave me a big scare a couple of years a go while on my one man pontoon.

I am fishing by an area where a  small channel entered the lake and all of the sudden I see a big wake coming from the creek, (picture Jaws here just below the surface). Mind you I have my legs half way in the water, I put my rod down and I try to sit up higher in my pontoon, getting my legs out of the water. I figure whatever that was it don't need to see my legs, just in case it is hungry. :D

I told a local guy about it and he told me there are huge beevers in that lake, I think that is what it was.

Just this past spring a saw a dead beever and they get huge around here, around the size of my australian sheppard.

I think you nailed it on the head, Little Luey.  I've seen some HUGE beavers in what could only be described as "grizzly beavers".  My guess is that's what hit the canoe.  That big tail can put out a lot of leverage and torque, so I presume a huge beaver would have any problem moving a canoe like that.

Man, those beavers can really scare the crap out of ya.  I had a night last fall where I was out fishing by myself when two beavers came up on the boat and started to slap their tails in the water.  Scared the lving crap out of me at first, then it was a came of fun as I was trying to plunk them with some lead sinkers.  We went back and forth for about 30 minutes......then it was too dark and I headed in.  I have no doubt the could move a small boat or canoe with ease.

I saw several horrible and disgusting creatures next to me on Saturday mornings when I was living in Laramie, Wyoming.

They seem to be attracted to inebriated individuals in a weakened mental state.

I had a dream that a 6' rabbit broke into my huntin' shack once.  Does that count?

Well here in Southern IL we have the possible Cougars. This used to be part of there territory a long time ago but there suppose to be gone. With that said we have had a ton of sightings. Even the local news crew filmed what looked like a cougar crossing a country road. Then I got this picture sent to me from a friend at a bass club meeting. It's supposedly take just a few miles away from where I live on one of those automatic cameras. BTW this was during dear season.

That picture was taken in Texas, I've seen it posted on other websites claiming it was taken in Ky, West TN, Ala, and MO.

There is a link that says it really is from Texas, but I can't find it, but here's another link. Just scroll down.

That was me in my freshwater submersible. I was scouting structure and forage and wasn't paying attention. Sorry.

yeah its a good thing it was still deer season, that cougar woulda been busted. waka waka

One weekend back in the 70's, some friends and I backpacked way back into the woods and camped and fished on the banks of Boggy Creek in Fauk Arkansas, home of the Boggy Creek Monster. Didn't see the monster, but the horrendous racket made by the owls in the woods and scurrying in the underbrush of what we later figured to be raccoons, had us wide awake and quite spooked all night. Didn't catch any fish either, but have fond memories of that weekend.

Nope.  Never have seen anything I cannot explain while fishing, other than why my buddy is catching them and I am not.  :)

back in the late 90's my sister and I owned a bar. Weekends my folks would help me out, dad would help bartend and mom would help with the cash register.

Sometimes I'd end up spending the night at my folks place, since I'd usually pick them up on my way in. This particular night I saw something that still puzzles me.

That night we stopped at Denny's for some breakfast before heading home. My folks' home is situated in a ranch community, so there arent too many lights. The stars are as bright as can be. I remember parking, dad walking in and mom and I trailing behind. At that point I remember something catching my eye in the sky. There were no lights, it was flying very low, and the only noise it made was the air it pushed as it flew by. The shape wasnt round, more like a triangle with soft edges. It looked to be the size of a medium jet, Like a Gulfstream IV. Not too big, but at the same time not too small.  It was also going quite slow, too slow actually.

It passed directly over us, the house, and continued heading west towards the ocean. I remember mom and I just standing there, staring at it, until it wasnt visable anymore. I will never forget how it literally made no noise.

And no, I wasnt drinking that night. I never did on nights that I worked at the bar.

AJ, I dont know how big the jellyfish thing was but I have seen jellyfish in some lakes around here.

They have verified collections of them in WV apparently too.  http://nas.er.usgs.gov/queries/collectioninfo.asp?NoCache=12%2F22%2F2009+4%3A07%3A14+PM&SpeciesID=1068&State=WV&County=&HUCNumber=

I remember you telling that story on here before. Crazy, crazy stuff. From what I've read and from the documentaries I've watched, your experience matches up with those of many other trustworthy people.

As far as creatures go, when I lived in Miami I had a 15' canoe with a flat back and a 5 hp Nissan outboard that my brother and I used to fish and explore the bay. One morning we were on plane (yes, we were on plane in a canoe :-) ), and the front of the canoe jolted to the side. My brother swears he saw a hammerhead that hit the canoe with its fin, but I never saw it. Over the next year or so there were sightings reported of a 15 foot hammerhead in the Biscayne Bay area, which is right near where we were.

I've only told my mom and dad about this, but I guess it's time to spill it.

Last year at the KY lake roadtrip, I left out at around 1am.  By about 2am I was driving along a real secluded road and off to my left I saw what looked to be a black box barely moving.  It had a dull light on each corner.  I was the only car on the road and at first I just figured it to be a plane or something but it looked real low and it seemed to just be hovering.  I started to get a little freaked out so I gave my mom a holler to tell her.  I was explaining it to her and looking at it as it barely moved out in front of me.  After I hung up with her I looked down for a second to put my phone in the cup holder and when I looked back up, it was gone.

I had goosebumps the whole trip home.  Crazy stuff
