Which Razor?

Featured Replies

Hey buddy, you do know it's almost May.  Those type of questions are typically reserved for the Winter months, when it is too cold to fish.  Just grow your beard out until December, then come back and ask your razor question again.  It'll go three pages easy! ;)

My first thought.

I use a Gilette Mach 3 to shave followed by some Old Spice Pure Sport aftershave.

The fusion is a good razor also but the Mach 3 is just as good and its cheaper. The prices for these cartridges are astronomical to begin with.

Having used both, the Mach III is not as good as the Fusion.

Who needs a razor for the face.  Grow a beard!  That being said, I use a Headblade for my dome.  Ridiculously nice razor.

Having used both, the Mach III is not as good as the Fusion.

I have used both and get a baby bottom smooth shave from both the Fusion and the Mach 3.

The biggest downside to the Fusion is the price. Like each of the previous Gillette razors (Sensor, Sensor Excel, Mach 3, Mach 3 Turbo and Power) this one is more expensive than the last.

i use the mach 3 turbo

i think i use the sensor excel. i can't tell any difference between this and the other Gillete razors and the cartridges are waaaay cheaper. You can even find generic blades as some stores bringing the price down even farther

  • Super User

I bought the Mach3 when it was first introduced,

so I wouldn't consider the razor "expensive" spread

over the years. Now the replacement blades are

another story!

Here's a tip someone else posted on the forum some

time ago and it works: Blades corrode, they don't

really dull. Dry your razor blade on a towel after

EVERY shave. This will at least double the life of

a blade.

8-)

Blades are spendy, but Last a long time..Mach III  :)

Buy it once, learn about it, take good care of it, it will last forever. Sure there are some accessories you need to purchase, replace, replenish... but it is the way to go IMO.
