Somehow I still find time to fish like 15 tourneys a year. You can fish alot earlier and later in the season than you can camp.

My summer gig is tournaments for bass, Early spring northern Pike and walleye tourneys pus fun fish mostly buddies.

I also crappie and perch fish for food spring and fall and steelhead and ice fishing in the winter.

And my real deal is the stock markets.

I'm burnt out when it comes to tourneys. On average I usually fish 15 clubbers, and about 20-25 opens from April to early October. This year on top of my clubbers, I have already commited to 9 opens and the Bassmaster Weekend Series.

Garnet, stick with tournament bass fishing, it does cost as much to play as the stock market.

I fish state tournaments, club tournaments, and some local tournaments.  I'm trying to move up and maybe fish some bassmaster weekend series but I really dont like the lakes they pick for the northeastern division.  I might try and fish the division that hits virginia but I'm gonna see how far I can get with states first.  But I'm really busy with tournaments in the summer and during the week I fish ponds inbetween working with friends just to practice my hooksets and other tactical issues

I can be talked into fishing 2 or 4 a year  ;)

I agree 100%

I fish clubs and opens. Now that I'm healthy enough and no more about my limitations, I'm ready for bigger tourneys.

95% of the time it's all about the tournaments and pre-fishing.  The recreational part of bass fishing lost it's luster years ago.   :-/

I fish a few tourney's and always make time for family fishing. It's a must do. ;)

With the price of mid-grade gasoline climbing a number of my friends will continue to fish tournaments, but only ones near Richmond, Virginia.

Heading to Smith Mountain Lake or the Nottoway River can be very expensive.

Even Gaston and Kerr are costly now.

Luck for us who are living in the greater Richmond geographical area we have so many wonderful places to fish within an hour or an hour and a half from the city.

Even the upper James, from Bosher's Dam to Watkins Landing, can be fun and if you want a really great trip, put a raft in at the Huguenot Bridge and float down to the Pony Pasture. Some of the best bluegill and catfishing in the state plus the smallmouth bite is out of this world.

But please don't tell anyone as we do not want the fishery over run by people who have no idea of how to fish or enjoy the outdoors.

I fish the WBT.......Fish locally about 3 days a week sometimes 4.. work the rest..................in the winter do some Crappie fishing on Toledo Bend where my mom guides.........Bream fishing in the hot summer too.......i ain't scared to do some catfishing from time to time... ok hello my name is Sammie Jo and I love to fish PERIOD! I enjoy taking the kids out as well.. that is what it's all about

Yep, tournament fish as often as possible.  My new job has cut back my days on the water but still hope to fish maybe 25 T's this year.

I used to just go out fun fishing or help my better half pre-fish for tournaments he was in.  I have to admit he got me hooked on tournament fishing last year and i'm looking forward to this season.

I fish about 25-  8 team tourneys with my son, 10-12 ABA tourneys, and 5-6 open team tourneys with my daughter or wife....

I think I fished 29 ABA tournaments, 7 NBC tournaments, 7 Federation,

1 Relay For Life, 10 or 12 open tournaments and we had 9 winter tournaments. I stay on the water as much as I do on land.

And welcome to BR Sammy Jo and Champ Girl.

This year I will be fishing about 40 tournaments total. I just joined a very active local club.... absolutely love it! I also fish for PSU we fish a few club tournaments and some bigger ones. We just had a tournament early march on Smith Mountain Lake for the VA Tech open and going to Lake Maxinkuckee in 2 weeks. I am also trying out the Northeast division BFL this year. I should have a fun year of fishing!
