Guest avid
I met Roger for our day on the lake. He virtually lives right on the lake and had the boat already in the water when I arrived. We chatted a bit over coffee and his lovely wife Lois (the Lo in RoLo) graciously invited me for supper. We were going fishing while she was conducting business on the computer (she's definitly a keeper Rog ) Now the bad news. It was raining off and on all day. By about 3:30 we were in a steady heavy rain and headed in. The bass were deep in the bullrushes and getting to them was difficult. We did manage to get a couple in the boat in the 2 and 3 lb class. but they made us work. Roger was in his Frogg Toggs. Looked pretty cool and definitly dry. My pullover poncho doesn't hold up to Florida type rain, so I think a pair of Frogg Toggs are on the short list. In spite of the downside, this was a really fun trip. Roger is a funny guy with a very quick mind and "out of box" thinking. I don't think we stopped talking and laughing for more than 5 minutes the entire time we were on the water. Hope to do it again sometime soon. avid

Super User RoLo Posted December 16, 2006 Super User Share Posted December 16, 2006 Yesterday was a humid and rainy day, but I hardly noticed, because fishing with Avid was a real blast! Don is a personable man, and I immediately felt as though I've known him all my life. Remarkably, in just a few short hours, Avid & I solved most of the world's problems! Don, we'll definitely do that again, the pre-spawn season is right around the corner Roger

JiggaMan512
Yeah, thats awesome you guys. Avid, Frog Toggs are the best investment ive EVER made in fishing gear. I suggest them to anyone who hasnt experienced them yet, i just cant imagine how waterproof gear could get anymore comfortable and dry. :-? Low_Budget_Hooker
Wow, I'm jealous. That's a trip I really wish I could have been on. Knowledge, personality and a free dinner. Top notch. Avid, you really get around! lol Brush- if you like those, try somthing "fitted", with gore-tex and you'll want to sleep on your front lawn during the next storm, lol. Toggs work and are reasonably priced but they have their drawbacks. Way too baggy, no "bib" effect (rain down back, etc) They don't offer much wind protection either. For a hair mopre money, look into a gore-tex bib w/ jacket. JMO
