Cool down

Featured Replies

Last weekend we had the rare July "cold front" move thru. It was wonderful.

The bass must have enjoyed it too....On Fri evening we were catching some nice fish.

This was the largest.

We made it out fairly early Sat morning. What fun, caught several 3, 4 and one 5 1/2lbers. biggest one since May.

We ended up with 34 between Fri evening and Sat morning.  All were caught off the GY kreature, t-rigged.  By Sat evening the bite had slacked off tremendously. Oh how good to hit the lake with it 59 degrees. Had to peel clothes all morning. Now, it's back to the hot, humid, dog days of summer....but fall isn't far away ;)

WoW!!  Some very quality fish there mum!!

Sounds like a great weekend,...did the cold front keep the squirrels in??

I've seen better.

Maybe so son, but not by your hands!

remember I'll be down your way Oct 10th, why don't get one of your "Florida Boys" get togethers set up that evening ? Just a couple of hrs, I know you're gonna be busy but we need to settle this I'll show you Mom can still whip you........ Anybody got a fishing pole I can borrow??? ..as always, I'm really looking forward to getting on one of those big birds and heading down to visit, wish it were today!

Hey, I didn't say I had caught bigger- at least not recently (I've been too busy making your grandkid). However, if a whupping you want, a whupping you shall receive (cue Rocky theme music) .

I shall take time from my wedding planning and baby making to prepare for your arrival. Do not expect to have any mercy put upon you .

And yes, I'll round up the troops so your beat down can be witnessed .

Dan, you ole southern sweet talker you.

Deb, y'all come on down, I got a couple outfits you can try.

but i gotta warn ya.

Jason and his crankbait can be a wicked combination.

Great fish, congrats! Fishing here is real slow due the heat. A coldfront can work wonders!

Ok dude, finally.. ..GAME ON! Bring on your best, you're gonna need it! We may need some impartial judges for this one! Anyone not from FL or KY gonna be around west palm in Oct :o We'll try to not let it get too rough.

LBH, you know how squirrels are, it gets a little cooler and they just get nuttier! They were everywhere!!! still are!

Dan, thanks for the compliment(s) We do have some pretty fish up here, at least the ones I catch (and show) ;D

Avid, thanks for the offer for the use of the equipment. May be a little high class for this country bumkin but I'm a fast learner! If you don't mind, I'll accept your offer. I'd hate to have to fly down my stuff. Puts me at a disadvantage but Jas is gonna need all the help he can get. As far as him being wicked.. ...has been all his life but when's he gonna learn to catch a bass

Westpalmdude, get ready.....you're going down....

Deb, those are some BEAUTIFUL fish. Congrats! I've got tons of relatives in KY & have been wanting to get up there to do some fishin'. Hopefully one day. :)

From the pictures I've seen Momma is way ahead; so dude you need to step up or admit defeat  ;)

I have NO FEAR. Don, thanks for the props. I'm quite confident in Mom's abilities, but her handicap is that she won't fish a crankbait, which of course is perfect for Florida in the fall.

Niksfishinmom, your weakness will be your downfall!

You go girl. Nice job and nice fish. Don't you just love it when " its on ". I am glad you got into them.---Jim :)

westpalmdude aka son aka soon to be father of my grandchild..........I didn't say I wouldn't, just said I didn't like 'em! There's always an exception to every rule!!!! Mom's still got a few tricks up her sleeve

Thank everyone for the compliments. It's a crying shame I don't enjoy it more ;)

Deb,

Take it from this ol' Kentucky boy, those are niice! Which lake were you fishing?

Dick Durbin

Tallahassee

She was fishing Kentucky Lake, I believe in the Blood River area. You know, that area is devoid of the heavy weeds and grasses prevalent in South Florida in the fall. I do wonder how you'll prepare for your beat down :-/.

Dang, Jason.  You keep talking soooooooo much smack.

How you gonna show your face on the forums if momma kicks your butt?

You know the mook squad lives for moments like that dude.

I'd be careful if'n I wuz U........

I can talk smack because I can back it up ::).  The key to competition is to know your enemy. I have studied Niksfishinmom for years; pretending to ask for advice, only to understand her methodology. It is time for the student to become the master.

Niksfishinmom will lay in a pile of rubble when I am done with her. You have all been on notice.

I don't think she'll have time to take names. She'll be too busy catching fish. We'll have to settle for initials.

you just might be right  ;D
