a LOT of potential

Featured Replies

well after dinkfest '07 yesterday, i was determined to try to get a better fish today. went to a little pond and fished for a while basically deadsticking an unweighted tube.

took a while, but i finally - THUMP!!! and the line starts moving off. well, well, season's greetings mrs. bass. here's your present...BAM!!! ;D. hook is set, eyes are crossed, and drag is runnin'. :)

any bass over 5 pounds is nice, but this one was real cool b/c of its porky lil' proportions. short, fat, and very thick. i was so impressed i had to measure it. at less than 20.75" long, this fish weighed 5-6. :)

this is the kind of fish that in my opinion has tremendous potential to be a MONSTER one day if it survives, and the kind that is SO important to release. so i whacked it on the head, filleted it, and we're having it for supper. yum, yum. :)

just kiddin', just kiddin'. of course i released her. i really hope to meet up with this one a few years from now. imagine proportioned like this at 27"! :o. hope y'all are catchin' some too!

She was a chunky one. Nice catch as always. So I see you have now went from 1/4oz to no weight at all, lol.  ;D Tough to do with a jig though.

Wow, that's a fatty.  :o

Nice Mogan my friend. It's nice to see someone else who releases the big girls. I don't care how huge it is take a picture and get a photo mount!!

I don't think Bill Dance could do better.

Great catch.

For you guys who want to fish during the winter months, take a lesson from Hawg Caller and be patient.

Very, very patient.

And sooner or later, bam!

Awsome bass! Whats a hawg call sound like? I would love to learn! ;)

Great fish, great photo.

I can't decide if I would rather look at pictures of br.comers and their bass or the Swedish bikini team.

Ummmmmmmmmmm on second thought............ :-?

Wat a little poker.  Nice catch..

I fish a small farmpond close to my home that prodces many, many fish proportioned simalar to that pig your holding. I also beleive that these are the fish with the most potential for weight gain. Is it something genetic that causes this growth pattern or is it just conditions and/or food supply? I caught a 23-24 inch fish early last spring that probably weighed close to 8. I wish I had pics to show the shape of the fish.

 Great looking fish, congrats!
