Spro BBZ-1 Shad Question

Featured Replies

I am looking to ordering the BBZ-1 Shad in the herring color.  But I'm not sure which sink rate I need, the slow sink or fast sink.

I fish pretty much at all depths, so I am thinking the fast sink would be the one I want.  But is the slow sink just "slow" to get to the depth I want?

I would think that the fast sink would be similar to a Mattlures Baby Bass when it comes to how fast it will dive.  If this is right, then I think the fast sink is what I need.  What do you think?

What would the slow sink be best used for, shallow fishing up to 6'?

I had trouble deciding which one I wanted, but I went with the fast sink because I can burn it just under the surface and slow down if I need to. Just more versitle IMO.

Good luck, these things look awsome in the water.

I went with the slow sink because I knew I could work it on top and I could let it sink and then work it slow on the bottom. To me the slow sink covered more than I thought I could with the fast sink.

Seems you need them both,so says the monkey.

The slow sink is definitely a SLOW sink.  I favor the fast sink because like Deadeye said, it's more versatile.  Both baits have freakin crazy action and will catch fish.  I think Bass_Fin@tic is right, the chimp would be happy with both....or how about 2 of each in case you lose one  ;)

I bought the slow sink and boy is it ever a slow sinker.  I am going to have to buy the fast sink now.

i bought the slow sink and, as others have said, it is a S-L-O-W sink. i guess it's fine for when the fish are busting shad on top and you want to imitate a dying shad slowly sinking to the bottom but i really wished i would have bought the fast sink one now.

Cut the crap, you need BOTH, now it 's only a matter of deciding which one you 'll purchase first.

Why not buy a fast and a slow sink in each color? After all you never know what color they'll want. :;)

That 's my boy.  ;)

The choice is really simple, just buy them all.   8-)

Then you know you have all your depths and speeds covered.

Plus, you'll stop wondering which ones to buy.  ;D  One less thing to worry about.

Brad

i bought the slow sink and feels more like a top water swim bait.... hopefully i'll catch fish w/ it soon......

Is BassPro ever going to carry these things?

someone told me that basspro would start carrying these in december.

but now on to my question, is there any way i can fish the fast sinking version so that it would create a wake?

why don't you buy every single one that tackle warehouse has?

sure, retrieve faster than usual with your rod tip at 10 o'clock. heavy braid (50 to 65 lb. test) will help too. i do this with the full-size BBZ-1 swimbait and that one weighs almost 5 ounces. the only problem will this is that you have to fish it faster than you might always like. the plus, however, is that if you get a missed strike, you can let it fall and the fish will usually hit it again, thinking that it killed it.

I was at BPS on Thursday, and the guy told me that they weren't going to be selling the BBZ-1, at least not at the Detroit store.

i just returned from the new BPS in manteca. they had a few of the BBZ-1 shads in the blue herring slow sink BUT they wanted $24.99 for them!

If ya think about it, the bbz-1 is only available mostly online, so if you were to buy it for that price you might actually save a bit of money because after shipping and everything you might be paying around 26 or 27 dollars.

Hmmmm, I might have enough safety certificates saved up at work to do just that. hmmmm, I wonder, what do you think monkey? ;D ;D
