First of all, I haven't been bass fishing in about 2 months and it has been longer since I had the boat out.  Hurricanes Fay and Ike have brought some gusty winds which have prevented me from comfortably fishing, not to mention work has been very busy.  

Today was the nicest day I have seen on my day off in a LONG time so I decided to take my son out for a couple hours fishing this evening.  We get to the lake and unhook the boat.  We rig our rods and get everything situated and then decide to sit in the truck and eat our sandwiches before launching.  After eating, I decide to show my son how to back the trailer up and launch ( He'll be 16 in a couple weeks).

So here I am giving him instruction and yapping away when I realized I backed the trailer in too far (for this particular home made ramp) and accidently floated the boat off the trailer.  The boat drifted about 30 feet from shore before I could get out of the truck and empty my pockets.  

My son managed to snap a few pic's as he rolled on the ground laughing his ars off.

Here I sit saying "Duh, what a fricking idiot I am!"

Re-entry is not easy, especially when you can't touch bottom.  It was about 20' deep where I was at. But the thought of the gators lurking was enough to motivate your ARS into getting in the boat fast.

That would have done it for me too.  Always nice thinking about living in Florida, fishing 300+ days a year, warm pretty much year round, and then I think about the gators.   That snaps me back to reality.

Pretty cool that you shared this and can laugh at yourself. Gotta give you props!
