what states have bedded bass now

Featured Replies

Ours should be coming on within the next few days if they aren't already.  We continue to have a cold front about every two or three days that pushes them back.  Here in N. Texas smaller waters will spawn between mid-March to Mid-April, and larger Northern waters (i.e. Texoma) won't occur til late April to early May).  I'm sure they're spawning or already may have in South Texas.

Where are you from Fisher of Men? If you don't mind me asking. I live on Texoma and there not spawning yet! About another month or so. Some of the small ponds around here have some buck bass up hunting for and making beds but the females aren't quite ready!

I live in WA, our bass are goin to be spawning around mid to late april. Which is extremely early. Because we are going to have a drought, and our temperatures are warmer and less rain, no snowpack. So it is warmer up here than alot of other states. right now we are in the pre-spawn period and most of our lakes dont open til April 24

Are they spawning yet in Kansas

None in Va......water barely at 50 on a sunny afternoon, cold rain and wind every other day,you know-typical March weather. ::)

some here in NC

North East Texas they will be soon if not already on most lakes around here and already have on some of the power plant lakes.

they have been on beds here in az since febuary in a few of our lakes. We can catch bed fish from feb thru end of june here, just depends on what lake we go to.

The ponds inOrlando had spawning fish 3 weeks ago...I'm trying to figure out if those were earlier starters or if they are all finished???

This thread kind of reminds me of when I used to listen to the radio at night during X-mas eve to see if Santa was close!

I can't wait!

I guess I'll go fishing.

I'm in Houston and ours are bedding now. Caught some nice sized ones last weekend.

Aoy: Is Santa Claus Close!

Can't tell about bass in New York it's hard to tell through the ice. :D

Good Luck!

On some of my lakes in Georgia it is wide open. I caught between 30 and 40 Friday and 15 the day before. But the large females had not moved up in numbers yet. I will hopefully be sharing a picture or two of some nice ones this week.

we still have ice on most lakes here. tournament next weekend!!!! >:(

The fish here in North Texas are bedding now. I have seen some good ones on teh beds. The lakes I have seen them in are: Herbert Moss Lake, Lake Nocona and North Lake. These are small inpoundments butttttttttt... there are a few on the beds in Lake Ray Roberts and in the Mill Creek area of Texoma.

Good fishing and tight lines

Nothing in Kansas yet.  The nights are still dipping low into the 30's.  Forecast has it warming up this next week or 2 with lows in the 50's so I think it will start by then.

I went out today at two different lakes here in Kansas and seems like they are starting to stage.  I caught two small bucks in a shallow spawning flat.  I moved back out to the mouth of the cove on the main lake points and landed two nice 4 lbs. females.  Found the same thing at the other lake to.  For me personally, this is my favorite time to fish.  It is still cold enough to keep the crowds away, yet warm enough for me to get out there.
