A whole lot of them. This was my best year yet, i guess my skills are improving every year. I caught my 2 biggest fish this year, and just got out more and fine tuned my presentations.

I would say close to 300. Pretty decent year for me considering i have only been fishing 3 years. This was my best lunker year by far. I had many over 4lbs, my biggest smallie which was over 5lbs., and had a 10lbs. when fishing the santee for 2 days.

Spending all summer at home with a private lake 50 feet out the back door, my numbers for the summer alone were phenomenal, but as for public access fishing, I can use more.

I hear you cgs, fishing mostly small private lakes and ponds will really boost the #'s.......I'm not sure of how many I caught,I havent kept a log the past 3 years.

2005 has been my best year so far in about 30 years of Bassin'.  In Feb, I caught my new PB, an 8/11 and then in Aug, I caught my current PB, a nine lber.

I don't know how many but there were a bunch ;D. Many caught on my new(got it last summer) swimbait, Matt's Baby Bass ranging from 1.5 lbs to that 9 lber.

Forums like this one have helped all of us for sure!  8-)

Don't know, but caught my PB smallmouth 1/15/05 and PB largemouth 9/05/05. I also caught my PB brown trout and walley in 2005.

Those four fish made my year.

I don't plan on catching more fish this year, but I am trying to catch bigger bass, brown trout and walley.

Guest avid

this was my first year of retirement in Florida and I fished an average of 4-5 days per week.  I never got skunked in 2005. Not once.  I estimate that I caught about 1200 bass last year.  That includes all bass from the 6" "how did you get that plug into your mouth?" to the 6.75 lber that was the biggest in 2005.  Most of my bass were about a pound and half maybe 14" long.  I don't think I will fish quite as much this year, kind of like your first year of marriage if you get my drift    But I'll probably get out 3-4 days per week on average.   This forum has definitly helped.  I'm catching almost as many fish as I was last year but they are deinitly averaging bigger.

Good job Avid.  You give us all something to work toward!  Too bad preachers never retire, we just go out to pasture (I mean pastor). ;D

Lightninrod. Are you having luck on Matt's Baby Bass in Georgia? If so, Which ones and best times. BTW, I'm retired USAFRES at Robins AFB. Nice area. I did some pretty good bassin on base, but that's it.

preach4bass. We can never retire from God's work. Too much to do and so little time. Fishing for Men and fishing for Bass, in that order. I hope there are some good lakes in heaven. My mansion will be the one with the 21 Ft Stratos parked out front.  ;D

I guess I averaged about twice a week and 3-4 bass per trip, so 300-400 maybe?  I have caught 9 so far this year in 5 trips.  That's not a bad start for January in Indiana.  I did catch 8 of those in one trip, though :D  I guess that has skewed my average a bit, huh?

My fishing log tells me it was 583 but there were a few days that I didn't log in. I had several 30 fish days and a few 40's. But I am most proud of the fact that I only got skunked seven times.

We live in the county just South of Centerville after moving here in 1972. I'm a stockbroker so I've never fished on the base.

Yes, I've had great luck with Matt's Baby Bass here in both private ponds and in the State-owned Dodge County PFA lake. I've caught dozens of Bass on those models plus on his Bluegills too.

Here are just a couple of Matt's Baby Bass Bass:

Lightninrod. Awesome. Catching bass on a Rainbow trout in Georgia, who'ed a thunk it! I always enjoyed the Warner Robins area. That whole area is great. Is there a season or time that's best for Matt's lures that you have figured out?
