Roadwarrior-True patron and bud

Featured Replies

I Just wanted to post a "thanks" to RW

I pm'd him requesting feedback for a rod hunt I've been on. I solicited a last resort opinion before I went to the web to appease my monkey.

I am looking to expand my versatility and need a rod that covers unfamiliar tactics so I really have no idea what I'm looking for.

After some questions and explaining, RW told me to stop my hunt because he had a rod collecting dust that would be perfect! Well, those of you that know me, know I'm a bit of a showboat so I'm thinking,"wow, what a nice gesture but do I really want somthing someone else doesn't even use?"

Then RW started describing what he had and my ears perked.

RW is sending me,....no,...has ALREADY sent me, a Fenwick 7'9" Techna AV rod!! This is an im8, titanium guide, $250 rod!!

Wait, it gets better!

He also PM'd me back and told me he is sending me the reel too as he has no need for it. The rod was used for 1/2 an hour and landed 1 25lb striper but the fishing he does, really doesn't warrent this rod, so it sits.

The terms of this transaction are as follows

1. Use it, learn it, If it's what you wanted, send me $100

2. If not, Give it back when we meet somewhere for an excursion. (Varner?)

What A deal, and what a patron of the sport!

So, after his generosity helping out in the ground pounding for SENKO77 and his family, his relentless, committed insight and dedication to BR and family, and this latest act of kindness, I say hats off and raise your mugs....

I've bled so much information out of Roadwarrior I'm surprised he not starting to look pale. We're all lucky to have him helping us out.

In all the posts I've ever read from RW,I've yet to read sarcasm, negativity,or just plain ole talking about someone. To me,that is a man of high character. They don't make many like him anymore.Although I've never met him,I consider him a friend.RW,You're one hail of a guy.Tight Lines,RR
