if your not having a good day

Featured Replies

if your not perfoming on the water like you expect to do you blame it on fishing the wrong areas,

your lure selection or your presentation?  Or what else?

If i'm not catching any fish, I know it's me.

There's some subtle piece of the puzzle that I'm not picking up on, when I realize this I stop and recall all I've done that day and usually I'll realize what it was that I was missing and go catch some fish.

The fish are always there, and if I can put my lure in the right spot at the right time then I know eventually i'm going to catch some fish.

I've learned that it's all about fishing those high percentage area's for the season or pattern that the bass are in.

I would also add, that just because you're not catching any fish does'nt make it a bad day. Make it positive, you learned something from that day that you will be able to use the next time you are on the water.

A "bad" day of fishing is better than a "good" day of well, anything else!!!!!

If i'm not catching any fish[, I know it's me.

I agree.  I know someone, somewhere on the lake has figured the fish out.

It's usually either location or presentation.

I blame my partner,...always :) That's what he's there for,lol

yeah what he said

I always have a good day on the water. If I am not catching fish like I should, I tend to blame it on shore fishing thinking all the fish must be on deeper structure I can't find.

I go along with the puzzle, when your not catching fish, you are not adapting to that one variable that you missed.

finding the correct lure is simple, presintation for the lakes statues is easy. I belive its all in the bass's mood.

If I'm not having a good day on the water,I blame no one or nothing.I generally tie on a search bait that I have a lot of confidence in ,like a spinnerbait, and "go fishing".

blame it on the waterskiers    they are a pain in the bass

Hmm...

It would have to blame it on the fish!

Seriously, sometimes they're just not biting or as Other wrote, "I believe it's all in the bass' mood.

There is no such thing as a bad day on the water.

Just look around at the beauty of nature.

Then realize that the fish are smarter than you!

I blame everything if I'm not catching. But once I've tried a little of everything I just blame the fish.

i always do everything right if i don't catch its someone or something else's fault if that makes sense lol

The only thing I blame for not catching fish is the wind. Since the wind always seems to be howling when I fish (like today) I generally always have a good scapegoat.

yea actually that happens to me a lot. then i scream at the wind and people that live next to the pond run inside lol

Theres no doubt about it.  Some days  the bass just ain't in a bitin mood.  That being said there is always a way to catch at least one or two.  My strategy when nothing else seems to work is to fish the weedy shallows with a senko, the dropoffs with a jig, the weedline with ratltrap and then toss a big spinnerbait around for good measure.  Usually it's the senko in shallows that gets me a fish.

I went out Saturday. Never got a bite for 5 hours. It had to be the cold weather, I was so cold I probably couldn't have felt a bite if I had gotton one.
