Using the wrong lure and presentation or fishing the wrong location?

Not sure I completely understand the question, but I think that of those items listed, location is the most important.  You can use the perfect bait, present is perfectly, but if you are in a location where there are no fish, you aren't going to catch anything.

I believe that location will get you skunked way before lure and presentation will.  I have found that as long as you are around fish there are several different ways to get them to bite.

Location.If there are no fish to be caught,you cant catch fish.

The wrong bait in the right place is going to catch more fish than the right bait in the wrong place.

alittle bit of both but location is key. you can have a $30 rapala ripping livley through water, but if its a swimming pool, you might not got a strike ;D

Fishing is finding bass at home at the right time. The first three cardinal rules of real estate are Location, location, and location. If the bass are not home there's no point in knocking on their door.

I test all my new lures in my swimming pool. Even the ones that become "magical" never seem to work for me in the pool. I have been fishing the same water for five years and have never landed a fish, but occasionally I think I get a bite.

CJBasswacker, that's a good rhetorical question to get a conversation started.  I don't think we can emphasize enough the importance of studying a lake and taking the time to locate bass holding areas before we make a cast.

As usual RW has a unique way of putting into words the very basics of bass fishing.

In this case, you aint' catchin bass where there ain't no bass.

Fishing dead water.     If you put that lure across a bass' nose, chances are, you'll at least get a reaction strike.

I agree with what you guys are saying.It is a simple question,or is there a such thing as a simple question when it comes to bass fishing?

I don't really have one answer to the question myself.I know that location is key.I also know that lure and presentation is important as well.What is the first thing we do when we fish for a few minutes and don't get bit?

The many realms of fishing makes some simple questions draw an inconclusive answer.
