how many of you guys leave the hook point buried in the middle of the plastic and how many tex-pose it?

i almost always tex-pose it and im just curious if most people are doing the same when they refer to a Texas Rig.

Usually tex-pose, but if fishing weightless, I sometimes expose the hook - especially if I am fishing a trick-worm near the surface or just a couple of feet down.

Since I use a straight-shank hook for much of my worm fishing I leave the point buried.   BUT......I always push the point thru the worm, then pull it back inside.  Less resistance to overcome on the strike don'tchaknow.... 8-)

When useing wide gap hooks I tex-pose. When I use straight shank or regular offset round bend I leave it buried.

I go with tex-pose it too.Better hook ups.

I  leave them buried in soft rubber worms and tex-posed in heavy salt sticks. I fish in thick cover most of the time. I love the *** that Brett gave to me at Fork. They have a small slot molded into the worm for the point of the hook to rest in. This is a great idea and it seems to work like a charm. No buried hook and very few snags. The "Grandebass" worms have the same slot. I Like them!

I almost always leave it in the plastic. Unless I'm having trouble hooking up with fish, and a few get off, I'll expose the hook and hook up with much more ease.. I should probably always expose it =)

I Tex-pose every time. It's the most efficient way to eliminate snags and increase the hook-up percentage.

OK I'm actually a texskinner then.  I've never heard that term before.  Did you make that up?  I hope so.  I can then tell everyone I was there when the term was coined.

I push the hook point throuh the plastic and then let it ease back into the worm.  this creates a "channel" for the hook to pass through reducing resistance, yet maintaining complete weedlessness, something I need.

But for tubes and bulkier plastics like beavers and horney toads, I'll push the hook through and bury the point back into the lure body.

I call it "Avid's famous push the hook through and bury the point back into the plastic rig"  8-)

no i did not make that term up.  and what i do is probably what others are calling tex-skin hooking although i believe they are the same thing as i dont think the actual hook is exposed in a tex-posed rig.
