Im not much of a morning guy and usually fish in the afternoon, but was thinking of giving tomorrow morning a shot and see if my luck changes any. what time do you guys usually get on the water. i bank fish so the time might not matter that much there.

not bank fishing,   but when i take someone with  we are on the water by 5:45,   by myself im on the water at    5 am

For best results you want to looking at the sun comeing up.

From April until October 6:30 PM till 8:00 AM  

5:00 by my self and 6 with other people unless they actually care more about catching fish than z's

I like to be on the water before the light starts.  Lakes are calm...ramps are empty....traffic is light on the roads.  Nothing better than skimming across the glass before all the rif raf hits the lake.  Plus.....Bass cannot resist fresh hot donuts in the AM! ;D

Great question, it gets me thinking, if you guys are on the water by 5 or so to say. If you start shallow with tops and such at what point do you start moving to deeper water with plastics and cranks. I am asking because I am heading to a new lake ( to me) this Sunday and am seeking as much info as possible. Thanks

usually by 830 or nine   im fishing deeper  unless the fish are shallow  then ill pound the bank all day

My local lake doesn't open till 7, even in the summer >. I wish we I could get out there at about 5:45.

I usually start shallow throwing topwaters, spinnerbaits, and soft plastics.  this time of year we want to be on the water by 5.  Last Saturday I boated a 6 pounder fishing a Senko shallow about 5:30.

Pick up my partner at 4:40, on the water by 5:00.

Sun up now is 5:20 so we may start going after dinner.

Relating to your specific question of bank fishing, I find I have the best luck on the banks closer to sunset than sunrise.  I have no reason or explanation, but I deffinately have better luck at dusk.  

I usually get out when I can, be it early or late. If I have time to pick up a rod and reel and get out, I go. Anytime is always the best time to fish.

Now, if it is a trip I am planning with a friend, depending on the season, I like to be on the water about an hour before sunrise. We'll fish as long as the buddy usually wants to, cuz I'll stay out on the water until the cows come home...and then some.

I bank fish and i usually get out there at about 6am.  But if i can manage to go with one of my friends who have a boat then we are usually out there about 430am.

I usually go in the mornings.  I try to be on the water between 5:00 and 5:30.

Alot of times i get out there around 3pm and have to be off lake by dark.I fish the banks as well,i always find around 6pm to be the most active time for fishing.

May thru September.   Days I'm off work= 5:30 pm - 12:30am.   Days I work= 11:00pm - 3:00am...  Rest of the year ? whenever I have time.  

Me and my dad are usually on the water right at or right before daylight.

the last few weeks, we have been pushing the start time back further and further as the night bite has been a good one and the bite has been shutting down hard after sun up till late morning, early afternoon when it picks up again.  With this in mind, we have been leaving the house by 1am, on the water by 2.  Off by 9ish and back on after dinner.

I like to be on the water before the sun is up. When my wife goes with me, it's closer to 7:00 A.M.

I like to hit the water when the sky is lightening up a bit in the East but the sun still hasn't risen.  Right now, that puts me on the water around 5:00 to 5:15 AM.  I'm noticing the bite starting to diminish drastically as the sun gets up above the trees so it may be time for some night fishing.  

As Valascus stated, I get on the water when I can.  If this means I have to hit the water at Noon, so be it.  

Well I used to get up as early as 3:30 to get on the water. Now I'm learning to watch the

rain or tides if in salt water and the fish feeding times which are based on the solar and lunar

calendars. For example the best time to fish in the next few days is the 14th , two days

before and two days after.  You can buy calendars of this feeding times or find one

online.  

I generally have better luck in the mid afternoon to sunset, but that doesn't mean im not on the water at 5:45  

I'm on the water before sunrise.  This time of year, that's 5:30 am for me.
