Florida strain LMB; 5 over 17 lbs; 17.4, 17.4, 17.6, 18.8 & 19.3.

BP northern strain LMB is 12.4 lbs.

Stopped counting 10 lb+ bass back in 1971 with 100 recorded and can only guess at somewhere around 300 today.

I'm in. I gotta couple over 10 but I aint braggin untill I get my 20. Maybe this year.

I am just barely in the club with 2 just over 10. I have many near the 10 mark......8-10lbs but only 2 over. I am confident I will get an 11+ this year

I caught a 6.5 last Summer. I have 2 friends that I fish with all the time (we share a 3-person electirc boat) and between us we have 2 6+ LMB's and a bunch of 5 #ers since we started to get serious in '04. Not much comparred to you who live in warmer climates but up here a 10+ would make you a near-legend.

I pulled out a 9-2 from that same lake 2 days before too!

Here is my what I believe to be my pb largemouth no scale that day so no proof of actual weight. Previous pb largemouth was 5-15 but this girl was much thicker and a maybe an inch longer. Not even close to ten but good for this area!http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg267/theredone_2008/piggy.jpg

I've caught a few bass that were huge.  THat was back when I was 15 and didn't have scales, digital cameras, or a way to get the fish to the game warden.  I'm sure that at one of them broke the 10lb mark, but I'll never know for sure

I've caught a 9.97lb bass out of stillhouse.  That would have been my first recorded 10lb bass if it would have eaten breakfast.  Oh well...I've caught tons of 15lb+ redfish  ;D

Brian, I can't begin to tell you how common that is.

This might be a good time to pass along a little statistical info regarding "trophy" weight.

Like all animals, the weight of big bass tends to hit sticking points along the way, known as "weight-plateaus".

These glass ceilings can be quickly disclosed by investigating the many beer and magazine sponsored citation programs,

as well as professional and local tournaments, etc. Analyze the weights of all the listed entries

and you'll promptly see that 10 lbs may be less like a weight plateau and more like pie-in-the-sky.

In the world of humans, "10" is a nice round number, but bass attain "trophy-class" when they reach 9 lbs, a powerful glass ceiling.

Once you've boated a 9-lb trophy bass, your next logical target would be 12 pounds, or "record-class" (the next ceiling).

Weights between 9 and 12 are essentially random, like the proverbial monkey and a dartboard.

In any case, do yourself a big favor and get that replica mount you always wanted as soon as you boat a 9-lb bass.

Waiting for a 10 lber could mean boating three 9-lb bass and still looking at the same empty space on the den wall :-/

Yeah I've boated about 10 or so 9lb bass.  I'll probably take you up on your advice.  I'd be willing to bet that as soon as I stop caring so much about a weighed 10lb bass, I'll probably catch one lol

I am a new member to the forums. I have been reading articals here for a few months now. I have enjoyed reading some of the posts also. You guys have some good info and stories. I have caught 3 over 10lbs. I caught a 12 even, 11.3 (yesterday!!!) and a 10.9

Does Sega Bass Fishing count?   ;D

9.2 is the best REAL bass I have caught... after this 15 month hiatus I will be on the prowl BIG TIME.
