I recognize the name. A warm welcome from the Pacific Northwest.

BTW, because I have nothing better to do, I just realized your screen name is a retronym... for the word diva. 8-) :)

Off from the computer for a few days and look what happens . . .  As Burely said, there goes the neighborhood.  Welcome back, but tell me, how does a newbie get to be a junior member with only one post? :o  ;D ;D ;D

Are you catching any fish?

My posts are so superior they count as 10 from you errrrrr....average types.   ::)  ;)

Avid, obviously you never sampled the humble pie in your hiatus LOL.  Great to have that superior wit and edgy sense of humor back amongst us mere mortals.

Be careful with such big words as some may consider you a snob. That said, I have never heard of a diva described as being avid.

Perhaps a better choice would be to have said that avid is an anagram for diva.

Now maybe I had better go fishing.

We've missed your wit........Welcome back...............Al

I am definitely not a snob and was definitely not ribbing Avid. I just happened to notice that his screen name just happened to be a retronym just as pots is to stop.  Perhaps I am using the wrong word, but its definition is a word that when spelled backward makes another word.

I apologize if I have offended anyone.

Na, get use to it when Avids name is involved ::)

Welcome back Avid-what was it that HookemDown called ya old guys??? The Prune Possy ;D

now set back Alex and see what Avid or his boys ;) are really good at

Alex,

It was said in jest, however what you pointed out was an anagram, not a retronym.

Webster's: a term consisting of a noun and a modifier which specifies the original meaning of the noun <film camera is a retronym>

Close to home: spinning reel, fly rod, bait caster, are all retronyms, as are digital phone, analog phone, and global positioning system.

Did you just wake up from a long nap, old fellow?

Yawn.....strettttttttttch,

Wha? ... Huh? .....Umm.....what's for lunch?

Not online much these days, so it took me awhile to see this good news. With BR growing so quickly, it's great to see Muddy and Avid back to bring it some continuity.

Great to see your posts again, Avid.
