Proof God has a sense of humor

Recommended Posts

It seems the weather pattern is the same every week. Perfect fishing weather all week, crappy during the weekend, perfect again on Monday. :-[

lol I know what you mean, great weather on the week days, sunny, a bit over cast. Than on week ends, rain, rain, rain, and did I mention rain?

Sundays not to bad for use but come Friday, the forecast will change!

I used to always tell my boss, I was going to change my work days to Wednesday through Sunday, and take Monday and Tuesday off.

Nope, God ain 't got sense of humor, God is a bass fisherman and God makes weather s*ty during the weekends cuz God knows that s*ty weekend weather not only makes better fishin, it also scares away all them picnickers, pleasure boaters, water skiers n ' jet skiers and we bass fishermen have all the lake for ourselves cuz the weather is "s*ty". ;)

I 'm grateful to God .... but I have to admit that sometimes he puts too much "spirit" into the s*ty weather thing and even we die hard bass fisherman have to pack our bags n 'go home. Man, it was really windy last Sunday down here.  :(

ok, thankfully, someone is on the same page as me, I looked at that forecast and said, Monday-nope, Tues-nope, wed, nope- Thurs-Nope FRIDAY!  SATURDAY! ABSOLUTELY

Different strokes for different folks, to me, the WORST condition would be 87 degrees and bright sun.

70 with a lil bit of rain sounds like a good formula for all day topwater action to me...

Fishing is always better on overcast and rainy days. Too much rain can muddy the water. When it does, stage your boat where water is running in. Bass like all the goodies washing into the lake and they will be there.

Haha ok y'all called me a wimp for wanting to fish on the nice days ;D Problem is I fish from a 14' jon and any amount of wind turns it into a sailboat The wind is my main gripe with the weekend forecast :(

Seriously though, given the drastic change in temperature do you think Saturday would be a good day. Seriously? I thought it would be a terrible day with such a cold front passing through.

If bass fishing was that easy cavemen could do it  ;)

If I learned anything over the years it is what I consider perfect conditions aint what the bass consider perfect conditions.

Ain 't you just a lucky dawg, you got 2 ft more of boat than I do ! :D, hmmm, now let 's see that forecast .......... oh boy, cloudy on Saurday and partially cloudy on Sunday, heck, what are we waiting for ????? Alright, it 's gonna be chilly, well, that 's what jackets and sweaters are for. ::) , BTW, it 's better when the front is passing, aftwards, like Monday, nah, I don 't think I 'd bet on that one. :-?, besides, let 's see them physics again, water is 850 TIMES denser than air so a drop in air temperature ain 't gonna have much effect on water temp.

Perfect Conditions: any day I can get on the water, with the resources God has afforded me to enjoy this sport. 8-)

If you want to catch fish then get out there on Saturday!  Overcast and rain are good.  Bluebird skies are bad.  You want to fish while the front is moving through and not after it.

If you could get out both Friday and Saturday then you'd have a good chance at a real good weekend!!

moloch16,

You need to get a drift sock and an anchor. You will learn to use the drift sock to make wind your friend.

I gotta agree with the other guys, you can keep those blue bird sky days, they suck for fishing.  I'll take the rainy windy days anytime.

I fished in a light drizzly mist today. Caught four bass over four pounds and had two nice channel cat caught on plastic worm.  I enjoyed it immensely. Let it rain. :)

You guys are great thanks for the encouraging words :)  Tonight I went to Wal-Mart and bought a rain suit - I'll be out there on Saturday.  Wish I could make Friday but oh well!

if you want just use a drift sock if your wanting to keep moving.. or do like I do... just drop anchor and fish that spot real good.. then pull and go to another spot... it will help you in the long run because you won't be so apt to "gun and run"

just my .02

Ok folks this is how the weekend is shaping up. It was mid-80s all week, strong cold front coming through today (Friday). Is Saturday worth fishing? Due to family commitments my fishing time is very limited I can basically pick 5 hours to fish anytime Saturday or Sunday. I always hear cold-front fishing is the worse possible fishing conditions.

Thanks in advance for your help everyone is so helpful here :D
