$$$ for fishing next year

Featured Replies

I don't like it, but I had to go with $5000+  I have all my entry fees totaled and that alone is over 2k.  Gas, tackle, FOOD, hotel, etc. and I will easily be over 5 grand when 2010 rolls around.

Wish I could find someone to pay for me!

Probably $5000+. Got atleast 4 long distance trips planned next year. Two to Guntersville, and two to Dale Hollow. Plus fishing every week, boat payments, tournament entry fees, gas, oil for boat, normal tackle replacement, etc. I spent somewhere upwards of $4000 just in diesel fuel this year to pull the boat to the lake every week.

You got to pay to play!!!! :)

whats that?

;D

I said $500-$1000, but after thinking about it I think I went a little low. The swimbait craze is going to raise it considerably. I purchased one swimbait rod last week, and I'm thinking about getting another by Spring.

Oh well, it keeps me off the streets.

Outside of a fishing license, probably not much.  I've got a boatload of tackle that functions perfectly, including lures that have never even seen water!  Last year I bought one lure that turned out to be one of the hottest I've ever used.  Guess I'll use it again this year :)

Whatever it takes.

Good answer.  I can give a good estimate by September of next year.   ;)

$3000-5000.  Much of that going towards the boat restoration.

With the crumbling economy, I had to get rid of the girlfriend so I can maintain a steady addiction to fishing.. probably spend a little more than last year. somewhere around 1000

Denial..........

She just laid there, didn't she?

;D ;D ;D   Best laugh of the nite....my wife didn't get it   ;D ;D Thanks..

I guess about $2000. Need a new boat trailer, new floors & carpet. I prob. won't get any new rods/reels, the only other "need" will be line. We'll see.....

I will probably spend between 1000-2000 next year.

It depends on how good Santa is to me in a couple of weeks.

I got a new boat this year, so it will be a long time before I spend as much as I did this year.

I still have room for more rods and reels. ;D ;D ;D

Brute

Considering it will cost at least 1200 in boat fees I'm hoping to keep it south of 2 grand....this thread will self-destruct before my wife sees it right?

BAIT MONKEY STRIKES AGAIN!

Already spent 300$ this fall/winter preparing for next year... :-/

oh well ;D

I spent more than that Saturday. Those 100 MPH suits ain't cheap. Now I have one for me and one to keep a draw quite so I can fish when it's raw. Nothing worse than a whining draw that's cold to knock you off your game.

You didn't mention whether gas for the truck counted.  Barring any problems with the boat/motor, that will be my major expense.  I've already got most of the tackle/gear I need.  Just want to be able to use what I have.

Ok, I'll fess up.  I'm sure I'll buy some new stuff.  I've already got an order in for 2 new Rapala glass raps.  Hope UPS delivers them to me and not one of the neighbors (They are rather notorious for doing that sort of bull).

I wish i could change my vote.

It seems like i'm gonna spend more than 500$ this year haha.

Forgot about fishing-license fees, and the new reel/rod combo i'll have to purchase as a gift for my father.

Not only that, but i'm already at the 400$ mark, and i'm sure i'll spend some money here and there from lure-buying convulsions  ;D

d**n you BaitMonkey!!!!!

If I try to match 2008, I'll have to expand my house.   :-[

Except for line, hooks and weights I think that I am pretty well set.

1500 - 2000

That's figuring in gasoline for my truck, but not including a trip to Georgia and Alabama in March. Will be visiting our daughter in GA, so it's a combo trip.

Shouldn't need any rods and reels, since I have 5 baitcasters. One can handle lures up to 6 oz. Another up to 3. The remaining are one 1.5 oz and two 3/4 oz. Four spinning rods of medium to medium heavy action.

But, never say never. I don't have an ultralight, so..................

Pretty well set on terminal gear. Maybe a trolling motor. Might build a jon boat. If so, that will push my spending higher.

I would prefer not to put an estimate on it and remain blisfully ignorant as to what I spend on fishing.
