KVD Hatin'??

Featured Replies

I was thinking about this topic over the weekend while I was watching the AOY show on ESPN.  In other sports when people win so much, people tend to start disliking that person---like Jimmie Johnson, Tiger Woods, Roger Federer etc.  Although they have a lot of fans, they have about an equal number of "haters".  I don't see this with KVD, unless you just don't hear about it as much because it's not one of the bigger sports.  Anyone know any KVD haters or know why this sport seems to be immune to such a phenomena?

I am not a "hater" and his accomplishments are ridiculous, but I wouldn't call myself a fan.  Although I am fairly young, my favorites are the "old school" guys like Clunn, Nixon and Brauer, with the exception of Greg Hackeny (who is going to kill during the 2010 season!!!) :o.

"Anyone know any KVD haters"

Todd Faircloth?   ;D

i like them all. ive picked up useful tips from each and everyone of them.

Ridiculous...

Tiger Woods is the most popular sports figure

in the world and has been for years. People that

don't play golf love Tiger.

Regarding KVD, some of us don't think he has earned

the title "Greatest Ever", but that doesn't mean we don't

appreciate his talent.

::)

What's to hate about him?

Nothing.

He seems like a good guy and puts much time and effort into his fishing.  He's got great talent and doesnt trash talk.

Go KVD!   ;D

Aint the "Greatest Ever" but will be  ;)

All time greatest athlete: Tiger Woods played 91 holes & win the US Open with a torn ACL

What's to hate about him?

Nothing.

He's got great talent and doesnt trash talk.

;D

KVD has said that he loves to talk trash.  It's all part of his mental game.

maybe its just me, but I think it may be because anglers has a sort of respect for each other

or maybe its the attitude fans have towards the sport.

I know in the NFL I personally don't like certain players because i find them to be to cocky. but that's just my personal opinion

I do want to stress that although I posted this topic, I don't dislike or hate KVD.  I just find it an interesting difference in fans between fishing and the other "stick and ball" type sports.

And...I meant Greg Hackney will kill in '09!!!!

I think a person with bad attitude will never learn to fish properly. Most of the knowledge is acquired from other people and a person with bad social skill will have some difficulties.

I grew up watching KVD. There is nothing to dislike about the guy unless you are envious of his talents.

Just to egg this on a little.  Everyone says there is nothing to dislike about KVD.  Is there anything to hate Jimmie Johnson for, all he does is win a ton of races!  Tom Brady has done nothing except win a million football games and a few Super Bowls---people are always "hatin'" on him and he is one of the few football players without an attitude!

I'm wierd, I find this very interesting.  I appreciate all of your responses---keep 'em coming.

I haven't heard so much of people hatin' on Jimmy Johnson.  Jeff Gordon?  Now that's an entirely different thing.

Probably more *** than hating. Most successful people have a long list of envious individuals than tend to wish harmful things if only to cover up their own shortcomings

Well, BassResource.com promotes the positive, not the negative.
