Favorite Season to fish

Featured Replies

What is your favorite season to fish? Mine is early spring and fall. I love fall beacause all the leaves are off the trees and you can fish the whole day. Early spring is your best shot at catching the fish of a lifetime. (And there's no leaves on the trees ;D)

Winter  ;D

No competition and four pound spots everywhere  ;)

SUMMER TIME !!!! , when the weeds (grass) grow and it is time to frog fish !!!! , let me tell you , if the weeds grew all year long that's ALL i would do is fish with frogs   :D

Fall, from early Fall to late.  I love the weather, nice and crisp, clear dry air.  The leaves turning color, the lake usually clear.  The fishing improves or at least I can stay out there longer without sweating to death.  Sometimes a jacket feels great.

Would have to say mid-summer is my least favorite and the rest is gravy...

I don't know what "seasons" are since I live in Florida but my best/favorite times are from Nov- April.  June, July, August and September  are very productive months but the heat SUCKS.

We caught about 30 bass today from 6pm-8:15pm but sweat our donkeys off.  Miserably hot.

Summer and fall. I always seem to get hit with a cold front in the spring.

It's hard to beat early Fall.

I loathe summer. Not because of fishing but because of the jet skis and other boaters. Most of them have no idea what the rules of the water are or what common courtesy is.

Spring...I seem to have the best luck during that season.

Can't beat the fall fishing up here in MAINE. Leaves are all colored, frosty in the mornings and warm in the afternoons, and not many if any other boats on the water. Fishing is great from early fall right up to Thanksgiving, if we don't get ice by then.

All year long for me. ;)

Without a doubt, fall into early winter.  People are hunting, winds are down, jet fleas are gone and fish are feeding a bunch.

Winter. Any fool can catch fish when it's warm out...
