WOW! know any details?

Angler: Hiroshi Shimodahira

Place:  Nanairo Reservoir

Date:  10 Abril 2010

Weight: 9140 grams (20 lbs, 2.4 oz)

Length: 71 cms (28 inches )

Lure: 4" Sawamura One Up Shad rigged on a 1/16 th oz jighead

Monster bass indeed, and not caught on a big lure

Big bass indeed.

I think I've fished out of some boats that were smaller than the "bump board" that things pictured on. ;D

Wow, just wow. Could you imagine hooking into that thing and seeing the head come up for the first time?

Interesting how they kill their bass yet they are apparently getting so big? The guy w/the record claims there are many over 20 in Biwa (I think thats the name).

Did this one actually get to live?

Japan...Sushi...live fish?

Holy crap that's big.

Mass selective harvesting does wonders. ;D

Kind of puts a wrench into the thought that Catch & Release is the "only" way.

BIG congrats to Mr. Hiroshi

Hiroshi is a well known trophy bass fisherman in Japan and has caught 18+ lb bass before this 20.15 lb fish. Japan is about 2 months away from the primary spawning season in May/June.

Congratulations Hiroshi!

Awesome.  Yet there he is, with no problem throwing a 4" Sawamura One Up Shad rigged on a 1/16 th oz jighead.

Haha, I was just going to say the same thing. He only has 3 fingers.
