I guess this is a good thing since it didn't seem at least the me that ESPN was really supporting BASS but I guess it was a viewership thing along with advertising dollars. After letting go of the Ladies BASS which is now coming back under the LBAA (I believe) it's a good thing all the way around.

That's good news. 

It look good on paper. Jerry McKinnis has a great history with ESPN and should be able to help straighten up the organization. I like that ESPN will still televise the Classic and Elite Series wih Zona at the helm.

I hope this is a step in the right direction for BASS to get back to how it was before ESPN (pre 2001), as it seems ESPN lost focus on the real views and values that BASS stood for.

ESPN is a large-cap, multi-national corporation in the entertainment industry.

They have greater financial resources than most splinter groups to effectively promote B.A.S.S.

Even so, I was never comfortable with the marriage between ESPN and BASS,

but held out the hope that angling would make the cut.

On the bright side, B.A.S.S. should benefit from proprietary management with more TLC,

instead of being viewed as a non-performing asset to be divested.

It is truly unfortunate that the Elite and Classic programming will remain in the hands of those who could care less. ESPN coverage is short on....well...coverage...but what the hell, I can watch a bunch of guys who are ghostly pale from lack of sunlight play poker any time night or day. It was a sad day when ESPN stepped in, and it has only gotten worse.

The inclusion of Jerry does make this a better deal, my only fear is his age.  Not that's he's going to keel over tomorrow but it would be nice to see another young gun, bass fishermen in that mix. 

   ESPN has more viewers than the other outdoor networks.   

Take note on who the 3 investors are and what each brings to the table.

    Production, Media, and Financing, with a bow tie, Zona as the host.

   Add in the relationship Jerry has had with ESPN over the year and its solid deal for all.

     Jerry is on record I heard through the grapevine  that Zona will be in the mix.

      I hope this goes through, I think Jerry will right the ship.

I talked to a couple of Elite Series Anglers this weekend whom I know personally.  They are very excited over the news of new owners.  Jerry McGinnis will bring the excitement back into the sport and make sure it is successful in the future.  Don Logan is a marketing genius who will market the sport unlike anything we have seen before.  The sky is the limit in the future for BASS..
