Biggest Annoyance When Fishing.

Featured Replies

Here is an outline of an average Carp fishing day for me. You stalk up to a carp through thick brush, and it sees you. You stalk up to a carp, and it sees you. You stalk up to a carp, and it sees you. You stalk up to another carp, and it sees you. Then you stalk up to a carp, and it sees you. Finally one does not see you, and you stalk up to it, and then it sees you. You stalk up to a carp, and it sees you. Then one actually doesn't see you, you go to make a cast, and your little size 10 fly fell down through the top guide, so you slowly get it out the top guide. Then you go to grab the rod handle, and a twig catches the line and pulls the hook through the first guide again. So you set everything straight, make a pitch, and the line stops halfway cause theres a loop in your line, so you set it straight. Then you finally make a pitch, and it catches a branch and you spook the carp.

Another one that bites, is when the weather is beautiful all week while you are at work and then it turns to crap the minute you get time to fish.

WIND - the last tournament I fished we had 2-15lb mushrooms out dragging them through the grass and were still moving to fast to fish a spinnerbait.

Wow this thread blew up!

But my second most annoyance is cold. I'm not built for cold.

Buy the biggest trolling motor you can and the right rain gear and you will never have an issue.

I gotta say wind. Ive fished freezing cold (in massachusetts) and burning hot (california) and there is nothing worse then getting blown around in a kayak, jon boat, or float tube, by the wind...

My biggest annoyance when fishing, would have to be people. And I really don't care if they are fishing, or joy riding. I just don't want to see another human being within range of my eyesight. That just bugs and distracts the heck out of me.

Next would be wind.

Granted, 2 weeks ago, the wind was ripping, and the waves were pounding me into the shoreline.... But I was sticking the heck out of those big Stripers, and had the whole area to myself ! I'd take a windy day like that, any time ;)

Peace,

Fish

Even if its windy, cold and raining you can have a good day.  Even if you dont have a really great day at least you dont have to share it with a thousand other people because who would want to fish in those conditions  :D
