What friggin 'rules ???

Yeah. What freakin' rules? X2  :D

If there were a rule it should be that there are none. I fish how I want.  8-)

But I hear the OP. Some people do constrain themselves with self imposed rules.

i use firetiger in clear water sometimes

ive eaten a banana on my kayak

x2  Banana's on the boat.

x3 on the bananas.  I even left a few in The Beast boat last year when I borrowed it for future needs.....

I know Burley brings nanners on his boat. Then does inappropriate and appalling things with them.

"The Rules" are simply guidelines to help fishermen

organize their game plan. For most guys, and especially

people new to the sport, these "rules" are very helpful.

They allow you to spend more time using proven techniques

under appropriate conditions. "The Rules" have been

built on millions of hours of fishing by fishermen all over

the world.

Real men don't fish pink. Maybe bubblegum, but not "pink".

I fish a jerkbait year round and in muddy water

I use black lures often, even on bright days and in clear water.

I also fish spinnerbaits and buzzbaits late into the season when the water is in the 40-50 degree range.

I fish soft plastics on spinning gear only. I leave the baitcasting for cranks, topwater, spinnerbaits and everything else.

A few things I guess...

1) I use spinning for basically everything. Even big, heavy swimbaits.

2) I use braid for everything. I just don't see where using some kinky, coily, stretchy garbage is ever a benefit.

I'm sure their are more, I'm just drawing a blank...

Peace,

Fish

X4 on the bananas.  I didn't even know this was suppose to be bad luck until two years ago when a friend of min (huntfishAK) whose dad was in the Navy told me so.  And I don't think I've eaten a banana on the boat since.  I think I've got to go back though, it's such a perfect easy snack for the boat.  And I never had any problem before I knew of this.

I am not technique specific with my rods, what matters more to me is the weight and resistence of the lure I am using.  Light lures with little resistence go on my light rod, big heavy spinner baits with colorado blades go on my MH.

And one of my favorite rods is a cheap 5'6" light 2 pc mitchell, with a spinning reel that only holds 100yds of 4lb line.
