I too have picked up many tid-bits of useful info through the years, but I think the best advice led me to quality  gear. GLX G.Loomis rods & Shimano reels.

I enjoy the videos, and articles.

I can't pinpoint 1 piece of advice but the thing I like best is can get plenty of different opinions. Fishing shows on tv are biased to their sponsors. Magazines may give you 1 or 2 options and tend to promote the lasest trends(which I am a sucker for ;D). BR can potentialy give me thousands of dirrerent opinions on where to fish, what to fish,how to fish, what to do when they're not biting and real unbiased reviews of equiptment and baits that I may never have tried .   

I've seen so much good advice on here, it's hard to break it down like that.

But I can say that the info on this site has turned me into an avid jig fisherman, and greatly diversified the types of baits that I'm confident using.

Speedbead uses these all the time when the fishing gets slow. 

it's about how you present the lure, you don't see chefs lobbing steaks in the air crashing down on our plates they're gently set down in front of us. 

This is for fishing worms and what not.....If you think you are fishing it as slow as you can.......SLOW DOWN!   I'm all about Soft Plastic worms.

You've got to watch out for that one... "You can never have too many lures." a fishin' buddy told me once.  This winter I started scaling back what I carry in my box.

What I have learned the most here is gear related, mainly about reels.  I love reading the rod, reels, line thread.  Thank you everyone for all of your contributions.

To much brain overload. Fishing wise, it would have to be info on senkos. Never would of tried them till I heard about them here. Other info, which I find very important now, is correct spelling and grammer.

This is pretty general but I love the idea of being able to ask questions about a product (or just search the forum)before I buy it, whether it's line, electronics, terminal tackle, whatever. As others have said, you are getting real information from other "unsponsored" w/end warriors, not just the hype you hear on the TV shows, etc.  To me this is probably the greatest benefit of forums in general.  I've also met some new fishing buddies along the way through forums and there's nothing wrong with that. 

Best fishing tip I've heard in the last year:  Rattletraps are idiot baits, you are an idiot of you're not throwing them when the water is cold....
