Good afternoon everyone...

Featured Replies

Like to extend my hello's to those that dont know me and to say hi again to the ones that do. The guys that do know me, know how much I like smallie fishing as much as the next guy.Along with my son Brian over the years we have caught numerous fish over 5 lbs. from the New England Area, with the biggest fish coming from Western Mass...

Brian hasn't got the 6lb yet, but close 5.10's- 5.12's

My PB is 6.4... I've lost much bigger fish in the past years...

Knowing that I'll be getting some good info from Bass-Resource...

Hope I'm able to bring something to the site...

OK, have had little luck at the Wachussett.  What gate should I be looking to go to for fall fishing?  I've heard of monster smallmouth, last time out all I got was a 4" one on a 3" lure.

O great, thats all we need. Another one of them MassHoles..... ::) ;D

Those 6 plus smallies are hard to come by. I'm sure LP Harwich has atleast one.

Welcome aboard

Thanks Griz and welcome to the forum.

I've been up there twice, both this year. For those of you don't know, Wachusett is where the Mass record for Smallmouth was set (8.2) plus state records for Brown, Lake and Rainbow trout, Landlocked Salmon, and White Perch. That being said, be prepared for the montrosity of a fish in the picture below, being the only fish I've caught in 7 hours there over two days.

That monster was caught on a Red Daredevil with the skirt of a white yum tube added as a trailer.  Threw everything in my tacklebox, at the end, starting throwing mostly spoons, convinced they were deeper than I could throw and needed some casting distance.
