Hello from Rossow, Germany

Featured Replies

I am an American living n Germany since 1980 and have fished in many great areas in Europe. I also have a small fishing tackle and boat supply store and import Items from the USA (NOT from China!).

It has been almost 30 years since I was in the USA and "back then" Rods were classified as light, medium, or heavy action. In Europe they are classified as to lure weight. Recently I read a rod description which had the rod weight classified in line weight. How do I get started with that since the braided lines are a lot thinner and have much more strength? Is there a conversion chart somewhere? thanks and "tight lines" - in German "Petri Heil". :)

Welcome Hechtjaeger- You might want to post the question in the rods, reels, and line forum.  You will have a good group giving suggestions, and if you read into the older posts, you'll get a lot of insight.

Welcome Home! I'd go with the test ratings.  You don't do anything different for co-polymer, mono, or fluoro now do you?  Same thing with braid - it's the pound test that you need to know.
