A. Would I catch on a float rod or leger rod

B Where could I go in Polk county that I can pay to fish for bass, and rent tackle.I have a car and am on the 27, close to the i-4.

I'm not located in Florida so I can't help you with your questions, though I'm sure someone will chime in who can.  I just wanted to welcome you to Bass Resource!   :)

Welcome!!

Imperial Polk County (Lakeland, Bartow) is right on the edge of phosphate pit country. A lot of these pits are 'private' pay lakes that are full of big bass. I am not sure how to legally get on these lakes, as a younger man I used to sneak in to a few. Some are fishable from the bank, but the older ones have a decent amount of shoreline vegetation. making shore fishing difficult. With clear, blueish water they are unlike most fresh water in Florida. They are deep, also... another oddity in central Florida. I wish I could be of more help... but I at least wanted you to know that there are good fishing areas where you intend to go. Good luck!!

Welcome! This is a great resource for information!

I went to Scotland in 1990, tracking down some family history and took a trip down Loch Ness..beautiful.

Maybe we will see you on the lake!
