New From Ohio

Featured Replies

Thought I would stop in here and say hi. I am from Newark Ohio. I have been fishing as long as I can remember. It is my escape as I am sure quite a few people share the same escape.

I am a casual angler but only because I need more hours in the day. I also think lunch should be a mandatory 3 hours so fishing can be figured into the schedule.

I am a member of a Ohio forum as well but bass are my true love. Small mouth large mouth I just think there need to be more of them.

Well enough rambling here are a few pictures from last year. Still need to catch a few more this year.

I was going to post a few pics but I will wait until I get a few more posts under my belt.

Look forward to meeting some new people.

This fishing season has started a little rough for me. I have lost 3 good size smallies in the local rivers. So I decided today I was going to walk a smallmouth creek until I caught one. Well I now have a sunburn and I caught a 9" creek chub on a jignpig lol. Smallies are winning so far this year but they will meet there match soon enough. I did have a blast playing with the creek chubs tho. There had to of been 4000 of those things swimming the waters and the male I caught was in full spawning mode. They get seriously pink when its there time to shine.

good to see another Buckeye, welcome to BR.  You will soon be an addict to this site!

Thanks for the welcome. My grandparents have a house over at Indian. I go there a couple times a year and do a bit of fishing.

I am already a addict on a ohio fishing site and a few other forums. Might as well get addicted to this one.

Hello all. Name is Mike and live in the Cleveland area. After a long absence from any fishing, I bought my kids a few rods and we plan on doing some fishing. My dad taught me when I was 4 and I fished pretty regularly for 10 years, then took a break, got back into it for a few years, then took a break for about the last 15 years. Now that my kids want to try fishing I am clueless again as to even how to hook a minnow. Si I figured I would check out the forums out there and figure out how to do all this stuff yet again so that both me and my kids would have an enjoyable time. I am going to have lots of questions, and while I know that the search bar is my friend, it doesn't always spit out what one may be looking for.

Anyway, thanks to those who made this site for such a great place and I hope to one day become a productive member with answers for other first timers.
