Hi from Texas!

Featured Replies

Hey y'all! Just registered and wanted to say hi. I have fished for about 5 years and use mostly shimano reels and many different brands of rods. I am working on making the switch to all skeet Rees rods or falcon bucu. And will most likely stick with shimano reels.

~ps~ iv read the rules, dose that mean I caint have a banner that was made for me as my sig? It has my name and brands of companies that I like to use. Thanks in advance.

Bird~ Central Texas, just outside of Austin in Round Rock.

Round Rock, huh? I know the area well. I just left Ft Hood in August. I dated a girl from Round Rock for awhile. Do you ever make it up to Belton and Stillhouse?

Never fished Belton, but make the trip to Stillhouse several times. Not so much anymore. Still waiting on the hydrilla to grow back since the flood. Any idea how much longer till the grass will be back? I know several nice fish have been pulled out of there, but iv only managed a few dinks and sometimes will keep a few whites for the freezer.

Let me clarify - you cannot promote your OWN business, website, products, etc. But you may list sponsors, favorites, etc in your sig line.  However marketing copy is not allowed in all cases, with the exceptions noted by RW.

Hope that helps, and welcome home!

I moved to Ft Hood in March of 2008, after the hydrilla had been killed off by the flood of 2007. I always heard about how much hydrilla had been there before, but I never experienced it. I can say that there is considerably more now than there was in 2008. There is still some realy good fishing there even without all the vegatation. Some of my best days of bass fishing in my life were on Stillhouse lake. Belton is worth checking out too. It has some of the best smallmouth fishing in Texas.

Get yourself a Stillhouse map, and PM me your phone number.
