Smallies, Spots, or Bucket Mouths??

Featured Replies

Which do you prefer to fish for? Smallmouth, Spots, or Largemouth. I prefer to fish for smallmouth bass, but they are limited most places I fish. Catch largemouth 80% of the time, don't get many spots either. Love to catch the smallies what great fighters!!!!!

As long as they're big, I like them all!

I think smallmouth are more challenging, but a 10 lb largemouth certainly gets your heart pumping. We're lucky here in the Midsouth where all three species live in our rivers and lakes.

Largemouth are my favorite to fish for.  Smallies are better to catch.

I LOVE THEM ALL, but really like watching a huge smallmouth get airborne! (When I'm not tournament fishing) When they do that in a tournament my heart stops and I just wanna cry! LOL!

I fish for largemouths but i am going to start fishing for some smallmouth this year.

Where I live we have both great LM and SM fishing, I tend to fish for LM about 90% of the time.

A 5lb fish is a 5lb. fish in a tournament. However, A Coosa River Spot is by far the meanest fish alive. Not to be confused with a Kentucky, two totally different fish.. Pound for pound a Coosa Spot will drowned the other 3..

It's smallmouth for me. The river smallies give a great fight.

I fish for largemouth but I want to start fishing for smallmouths.

I definately prefer smallies.  Don't get me wrong, I love fishing for the others but smallies just give me a rush like the others just can't quite equal.  Plus, some of my favorite lakes to fish are strictly smallie and walleye lakes with no a large mouths.

Have yet to even catch a largemouth!

All we have (with the exception of one lake) are Smallies.

I'm with KU. I much more enjoy FISHING FOR largemouth, but much more enjoy CATCHING smallies.

I fish for anything that is byting prefer to catch small mouth. Where I fish from a dock we catch many variaties. I thihk smallies give the best fight and love to see them leap out of the water.

                                     Good Luck!
