Lbaa Heading To South Carolina

Featured Replies

The second stop on the LBAA (Lady Bass Anglers Association) tour is Lake Hartwell. I've never seen the lake but look forward to it!

Greg and I will be heading out Sunday morning. I can prefish Monday and Tuesday. Tourney is Thursday and Friday. Wish me luck! B)

Hope you do great! And don't be afraid to pick up a spinning rod and shakey head if things are tough. I won't be there to laugh at you like you did at me. :cheer:

Good Luck!!! :D

Good luck Deb.

Just remember that when you are up on the weighin stand holding that trophy, try not to gloat as much as this little woman in Rodney has been doing. Argh, you created a monster! :D

You created the monster.....you introduced her to me :P

Thanks everyone. Practice day one was rough, one keeper.

Today has been better....more bites, more keepers, including a 4lber which I'm told is a good fish for here. Hope she stays put for a couple more days. I'll go back and try to give her more kisses

here you go.......Lake Hartwell 1, Deb :(

I had 3 small keepers today, not in last place but close enough  but it was absolutely beautiful out there.

Had an eagle fly over which was breathtaking.

Win, lose or just fishing......I'm having a blast!!! Look out Guntersville in July B)

What a week it's been. Fishing a clear deep lake has been a challenge but fun. I'm not used to being able to see the bottom 12 foot below the boat

Yesterday, at 1:45 I had 2 small keepers in the boat (12in keepers) Knew I had to be on my way back to weigh in at 2:30.....Hit a spot and caught 2 more keepers again small but they count. Saw a bass swimming.....hum, could it be a late spawner? I made a cast and came up short, nerves  Made another and in the bed it went, she turned on it but that's it. One more cast. It was wicked to watch her turn and pick up the bait. My co had the net in her hands before I set the hook. She was a 4lber.

Ended the tourney in 11th place. Kim Bain-Moore won, Pam Martin-Wells took second. These ladies are so very much fun to fish with! Can't wait till Guntersville!!!

Good Job Deb!

When you aren't used to fishing in that gin clear water it can be somewhat intimidating. Now you know why some of us talk about using (Argh) spinning gear and that crazy thin 6lb test line. The one really good aspect of clear water though is the sight fishing opportunities, it must have been fun to see that 4lber sitting there.

I see that Kim Bain-Moore was using a soft swim bait between and around docks for her fishing pattern. What kind of setups/baits were you using, and were they a lot different because of the clear water? Did you switch baits for the second day? Do you know what others were using?

Anyhow, I'm glad to see that you were able to move up the leader board on day two. Here's to hoping you have a great trip to Guntersville.
