Did A Little Re-Con

Set out on a new lake this afternoon. Wind finally let up enough to get out.

Water and air temp were both at 50 but the sun was beaming nicely. Poked around for half the day with nothing to show. Then found a nice sheltered bay with a creek emptying into the back of it. Pitched my go-to 1/2oz jig & craw to a decent drop which included quite a bit of wood and on the first pass, the bait never made it to the bottom.

I love it when that happens.

Very nice looking fish! I have to agree with you, I love it when there is a fish on my jig before it ever hits the bottom! :D

Great job A-Jay those are some stout fish. Any idea what they together?

Yea, I was trying real hard to cull that smaller fish to get to a 20lb bag but never did manage a bigger bite. So it ended up @ 18 and change.

Very nice inded A-Jay. I'm with you on the jig never making it down to the bottom, there is not a better jig bite IMHO.

Congrats on your day.
