For A Sport That Only Makes Left Turns...

...NASCAR sure is crooked! If anyone else besides Jr. was leading the race they would have waved the caution flag at the end of the race. I've been cheering for him to win a race this year, but NASCAR's man-crush on him had me cheering when he ran out of gas on the final lap. Hey, NASCAR, let the man win a race on his own!

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking, and EXACTLY what I did when he ran out of gas!

I don't see why any would route for jr, if it wasn't for his last name no one would like him at all

I thought NASCAR rules were bad...............until I watched the F1 race at Monaco yesterday morning. The fellow leading was on old tires. The second and third place drivers had caught him with several laps remaining. The third place car was the fastest of the three.

With a half dozen laps to go there was a red flag brought out by a bad crash. During the red flag stop, the leading car put on new tires, someone else replaced a nose section, and yet another had major repairs done to its wing. When the race restarted, the lead car with new tires pulled away, winning it in a breeze. That made five wins in six races for that car.

Regarding NASCAR, I feel their rules are written on an Etch-a-sketch. Their intepretation of the rules depends on who is involved, or so it seems. But that's still not as bad as the fiasco known as F1.

I'm sitting here watching the finish of the F1 race right now. That is one ridiculous rule. I'd have no problem with them putting the tire warmers on them while they wait to keep the temps up. But to do all of the work they did is a bit silly...

I agree that his legion of fans can only be attributed to his name. He's a likable enough guy, but average at best as far as driving talent is concerned.

He'd still have some fans, but no more than any other average talent driver. He is certainly no Jimmy Johnson, Kyle Busch, or Tony Stewart!

'Sunday Money' was Dale Sr.'s yacht. When Andy Petree got married (here in town) Dale Sr. put Andy and his new wife on 'Sunday Money' for a week long honeymoon cruise as a wedding gift.

Probably get crucified for this but, Jr actually is a pretty good driver compared to other drivers. When he started out he won 2 back to back Busch Series Championships and won a race at TX his first full year in 2000. What seems to me though, he isn't consistant as much as he should be. If he is on top it won't be for long cause it just seems like something is bound to happen to where he drops off. Like one year he was number one in points and got the pole at the race because of a previsional and in the first lap he got taken out and then the one year he was doing good until he got in the corvette accident and he couldn't finish a couple of races.

He just has pure bad luck.

Talk about your man crush!!! Bit of a Freudian slip?

Plus, last I checked they didn't race under the water or off a diving board.

Yeah, he is a pretty good driver, compared to Bobby Hilling, JR, Derrick Cope, and Lake Speed.

I mean for awhile it was him, Kevin Harvick, and Matt Kenseth duking it out. Right now all three of them are about tied with Career wins with JR with 18, Matt with 18 and Kevin Harvick with 17 and the races Kevin Harvick has won this year had JR up front. One he beat him towards the end and the other JR ran out of gas.

Based on statistics out there, there are better drivers but I personally think theres no one out there right now that drives the way JR does. He drives like his dad and I don't think there are many out there that drive as aggressive has he does.

Did you watch Daytona???? Aggressive...hardly. JR. pushed JJ to the win. Now ask yourself, If that were Dale Sr., who would have been doing the pushing and who would have been doing the winning?

He got wrecked out trying to get to the front. He was drafting with Tony Stewart but everytime he would try to past Tony would get out of the draft with him and let Jr fall back. If Stewart had let Jr get around it would had been different and Jr probably would have not wrecked and actually could have had won the race.

When is the last time Jr. wrecked another driver (on purpose)?

When was the last time Jr. "intimidated" another driver?

When was the last time Jr. won a race?

When was the last time Jr. won a championship?

If you answer those questions honestly, there's no way you can say Jr. drives like his dad!

First 2 have happened before and the "intimidation" happens alot. I remember Jamie Mcmurray or Kevin Harvick said during a race on the radio towards the end of the race "oh $%!^ it's Jr" when they realized he was speeding up behind them. Guys get scared when he is in the rearview mirror. It has been awhile since Jr won a race and no he has never won a Championship but i do not think championships make the driver. Look at Mark Martin for example, he has never won a championship but is still one of the best drivers out there.

The person who drives the most like SR is Kyle Busch and that is makes things even funnier for those who laugh at JR Nation.

i dont think so. kyle rarely "moves" other drivers out of the way like sr. did. Juan IMO drives more like sr. than jr. and kyle put together.

You can say Brad Keselowski drives like Sr but I personally don't like him cause he acts like a punk off the field. He one yesterdays race but who was behind him? Jr. is third in points right right behind jimmie by 1 point he has a chance this year to win the championship. For someone who hasn't one a race this year he has been farely consistant in the top 10.
