Is it that big of a deal to have a 7.1:1 ratio when throwing the jig n' pig and t-rigged worm? I understand that it picks up line faster but I've never used a reel with 7.1 for this type of fishing..... I'm planning to use one of my Citica 200's which are 6.2:1.....

The citica will do the trick.

The Citica will work fine, especially since you already have it. If I was to buy a reel for this it would be a 7:1 lefty. The faster reel helps get line in for a quick next pitch. This comes in handy from the back of the boat where you don't have much to say about how fast you fish. It also takes up slack fast when they pick up and swim right at you. Bottom line is personal preference.

The differance is probabally less than 3" per turn, so no, it doesn't matter...

The rod imparts the action for both of those lures, the reel does nothing but take up the slack in the line. I prefer a 7:1 for most lures/techniques, but any ratio would work.

those two lures it doesnt matter. Fish the lures with the rod not the reel.

I use a Calcutta 100A that is 5.8:1 which is 23” per crank & a Curado 200E7 @ 7.0:1 takes in 30” per crank.

The Citica 200E does 27” per crank!

So doing the math I have to do what a 1/3 of a crank more to keep up
