Looking into getting some rattles for some of my plastics. I'm looking for feedback from those who have experience with glass and plastic BB rattles. From what I've read, the glass ones are supposed to be the loudest but obviously will be the most prone to breakage. I can live with that as Barlow's, Jann's Net Craft and the like are pretty reasonable in price at around $2.50 for a ten pack and even lower at higher quanities. Also the tubes I plan to use them in are extremely thick bodied, so there will be an element of protection there. I'm not interested in the rattles with hangers on them.

Another option I've seen are brass tubes with the rattles held in by a plastic end cap. I'm on the fence with these as they seem most likely to get water inside them and I don't want to deal with having to seal the end caps.

For plastics I like glass. Just slide them into the bait. I don't know how you would put them in tubes though. I think they make a plastic tube rattle with a hole that the hook slides through.

I always use the glass rattles, never really had a problem with breakage. I think the ones I have were made by Venom and when Cabela's in KC discontinued them I bought about 10 20pks of them. They stay in the bait very well and make a big difference in the number of bites at times.

Brass is actually louder than glass. The brand I use is sealed with a ball bearing soldered in place, and it has two different sized pellets inside that can't get lodged. I'm almost sure I get them at Bass Pro, I'll have to look.

I use the Venom rattles. They're slightly pointed on one end which makes it easier to insert into the bait.

I use the glass worm rattles for worms and creture baits and a glass tube rattle for tubes.

I've used glass and brass. Both are good but I like the brass better overall. I use to use them alot. Not so much anymore.
