After hearing some good things about fishing at night with buzz baits I pulled out the ol buzz bait box and got together a few different colors, sizes, and most importantly Ive found, different sounds.

A week ago I caught fish A on a white buzz bait around 1:30 AM, beating my earlier best

Earlier tonight I caught fish B on a black and blue buzz bait around 9:45

I feel extremely fortunate for the chances to out do my PB in such close order with such good lookin fish

If you cant sleep and your close to the water, head down late night with some big Buzz Baits

Nighttime bass fishing at its best! Did you release both fish? Second one looks DEAD! Try a Spro Popper if the bite is slow on the buzzer and get READY for a HAWG!

Makes sense then, I have a canal/lake system in the backyard and have the wife snap pics with furniture in the background, the second fish still looks dead though

Fish A was caught off a dock and out of the water for less than 2 min total, my girlfriend took the photo. This was at Lake Lanier.

Fish B was caught on an ultralight rod with 4 pound test, this resulted in a very long fight which wore her out. I tried to revive her for over 20 min, but she wouldn't go. So as opposed to leaving her to rot I put her on ice and plan to eat her tonight. I hate she didn't make it, but she was the FIRST bass I have EVER kept.

Its all I had in the truck, the average size bass I've got out of this lake is around .5 pounds. Really unusual sized fish

Great Fish bro! My largest bass have come on nightime buzzbaits. I read an article, then saw it on ESPN, about a Ga. guy named Pat Cullen. He has caught over 1000 ten pound bass. He said most all of his fishing is at night with a black buzzbait.

WTG... The night time bite makes a lot of sense with these daytime temperatures!

I'm glad you were able to release the first one. I've never eaten a bass that big. How was it?

Never been much for bass, I cleaned her and put her in the freezer. I'll be hosting a BBQ here soon, so I'm going to fire up the fryer then.

I did manage to gain some knowledge from seeing inside her. Her stomach was completely empty, where as her GI track was completely full. I'm not sure how long it takes for a bass to digest a stomach full of food, if anyone knows I would be very interested. I assume from this that she had switched to almost entirely eating at night, a piece of information that allows a good pattern to be established.
