Battlefield 3

Featured Replies

Been checking out the latest vids for Battlefield 3. As much as I don't really care for military squad-based FPS for single-player - I may have to pick this up just for the multi-player.

I'm kind of stoked as I understand that DICE's development emphasis was for high-end PC, being released in full DX11 with high-res textures and all, not in DX9 for consoles and then later patched with a high-res texture pack (ahem... Crysis 2). My ATI 5850 is starting to show a little age though....this may be just the excuse I need to pick up a 6970. :D

The in-game animation and character modelling look pretty fantastic.

I still play BF2 online till this day.

Wow, that looks amazing. I have had mine pre-ordered for a while, now it's just a matter of waiting.

Wonder what it will look like on the xbox. People are comparing it to homefront, which I'm not a big fan of. I have homefront but he gameplay is a bit weird. Hit detection is sketchy at best. Game engine looks promising!

Currently in the process of building a new custom PC just to run this game (along with Skyrim).

It WILL NOT look at good as PC, sorry guys it just cant. Trying to SLI some 570's at the cheap, but its freakin hard to do right now everything is so expensive.

@OP: ATI? Really Bro?

I'm pretty stoked for this game as well. Unfortunately, I have to play it on XBox, and won't be able to enjoy 64 players at a time.

I've always been a "Call of Duty" guy, and aside from 1943 on XBox Live arcade, I've never played a Battlefield game. I can't wait.

Yes....NVidia has nothing comparably priced to an unlocked ATI 6950 2Gig that offers the same level of performance.

I'm pretty sure a single 570 would run this game at max everything without much of a problem. ;) That card can pull almost 50 FPS out of Crysis Warhead at 1920x1080.

I've got it pre-ordered for XBOX! Can't wait to get my hands on it! It's gonna look astonishing on the consoles as well. Any news on beta for the consoles? I preordered Medal of Honor last year and got the limited edition so I should be getting an email soon in regards to the beta access.

MW3 and BF3 both reserved and paid off. MW3 is supposed to be running at 60FPS on the consoles! I played BF2 on the PC and had a blast with the squad system when, people wanted to work together. MW2...I'm so good at that game it's boring.

I love playing COD. I Still play the orginal Modern Warfare, I actually prefer it to MW2. Cant beat the originals. Their maps were far superior to any of MW2's. Thats why they brought some back. I think i'll get BF3 for 360 when it comes out though. I always wait a week to see if their ar game ruining bugs, etc.

Scorcher214, whats your gamertag? im out of gold right now but i'll add you anyways.

I love the story to the Call Of Duty series' but the gameplay of the battelfield games is so much better.

GT: XIX Coleman XIX

Ya, when BF3 comes out I can't wait to get a few buds together and tear it up as a squad!
