Ever Lasso A Bass

sorry about the poor picture quality, but it was raining and the good camera stayed in the vehicle.

The rig is a 10.5" worm on a 5/0 ewg.

the hook point was not in the fish. his head was stuck between the hook point and belly.

I brought a pike in once that had my line wrapped aroud his jaw and the lure dangling outside but never a bass. Too funny!

That's impressive!

Haven't lassoed one but I did set the hook on one and had the hook get stuck without hooking him. It was wedged with the hook bend on the bottom jaw and the hook eye on the top, holding his mouth open but without hooking him. Not quite as impressive as catching one between the bait and hook though!

That sure put a smile on my face, great photo. :D

That fish is going to catch hell from his buddies...

"You got caught HOW??"

That is great. Not that anyone cares, but no real cowboys use the word lasso, they would say I "roped" that bass. lol. But, hey your not a cowboy and I've never roped a bass, so you can call it whatever you want.

Clayton, that was my step-son's hands in the pic. This trip to Trophy Country was his birthday present. He's being deployed in October and wanted a fishing trip before he left. He's wearing some kind of military issue rain gear, but I couldn't tell you what it is.
