Jerk Bait Rod

Featured Replies

I was think about adding a jerk bait rod, Loomis JBR752CTD, for 1/4 - 3/8 baits to pair up with a Sol. Then I though that my Avid 6'6" MF might work and save me some money. Has anybody used the Loomis rod, if so pro and cons same with the Avid.

Thanks,

You just missed the JBR813 on sale at TW for $138!

I use an Avid AC62MXF with a Alphas and a AVC68MXF with a sol for jerkbaits, topwaters, and even spinnerbaits. You don't really need to sensitive a rod for this, just one that's comfortable, and a fast tip that recovers quickly after twitching.

Then can I assume that a SBR752(I have two) Loomis would also make a good jerk bait rod since it has an extra fast tip? I really want to stay with 6' to 6'6" the 813 might be too long.

Mine is the Avid AVC66MF.

I'm going to throw in a suggestion to try a rod with a fast or medium fast action for jerkbaits and lighter top water baits.
