Fishing Magazines

Featured Replies

None currently just because they expired, and I haven't renewed.

But mostly FLW. I think I'm going to subscribe to In-Fisherman. It's a good mag, that I would like to always have, but can't justify the newstand cost. It's a multi-species so keep that in mind.

Bassin was always pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's even out there anymore.

Bass Angler Magazine. Quality, informative and doesn't read like a series of advertisements.

Bassmaster, just because my Grandson was selling subscription for school.

I read on Bassin' Facebook page they are under new ownership. A new mag will be mailed and hit newsstands I think they said at the first of the month. Will be interesting to see if they come back to the quality it used to be. I like state wildlife and fish magazines, texas game and fish here.

Bass Angler Magazine (BAM) - LOADED with articles, and they have a lot of info about the west, which you rarely see (aside from the compulsory Delta/Lake Mead/Havasu article). So they have articles about lakes and rivers up in my neck of the woods.

We get Bassmaster simply because we're members. It's ok, but thin on content.

Bassin' is making a comeback. Something to watch out for.

BAM, Bassmaster, In-Fisherman, FLW

I get FLW because of the club I'm in, BASS as a gift from my buddy. The subscription I buy and like the best is Bass Angler magazine. Glen covered the reasons pretty well.

I get BMaster, FLW, and purchase BASSIN' when I can find it. Just picked up the In-fisherman BASS Annual this AM at WallyWorld. This one finally has some articles in it worth reading. The last two were a waste of money IMO.

The last time I got a subscription, I received 3 magazines in 2 months and never saw another one.

Bassmaster,Bassin,FLW and Bass angler magazine.

FLW, BAM, Bassin when its on the news stand, IL Game & Fish and Midwest Outdoors. Use to get Bassmaster until they tried to charge me 25 dollars for a year of which I have never paid more then 15 for it in over 20 years. Not worth 15 yet alone 25 IMO. Use to be great back in the 80's and early 90's, packed full of info, now your lucky if there is one good article in it IMO.

Bassin, BassMaster, FLW, and Bass Angler (new one I got for a present, have not read before)

I enjoy the new bassin, even if 4 times a year.

FLW is rather good, Bassmaster is up and down in my opinion, sometimes real good, sometimes a little light.

Kayak Angler on my iPad for 9.99 a year and Bass Angler Magazine for 17.99 a year on my iPad. Both are very good. Accessible on airplanes and anywhere I travel.

I've tried a lot of them, and the only one I continue to subscribe to is In- Fisherman. I'm a recent subscriber to BAM. I've only received two copies so far, but I AM IMPRESSED.

This from an old fart who is not easily impressed.

I like bassmaster still but I gave up on In-Fisherman a long time ago. The Lindner's left and it became the Doug Stange total guide to swim baits and carp fishing which lost me.

The infisherman bass issue thats on the newstands now is pretty dang good.

I like FLW the best. I am not really into a lot of the tournament coverage of some magazines. I also really like the local, more regional magazines. They usually have information on the lakes that are close and what is happening in my area.

  • 4 weeks later...

The last time I got a subscription, I received 3 magazines in 2 months and never saw another one.

I think thats part of the "UNDER NEW OWNERS" I mentioned... I just got my copy in the mail today... I have skimmed it twice, getting ready to go to the throne and do some reading. Looks better than ever IMO.

From what I see in the new bassin, its gotten worse. The section in the back thats ads made out to be "articles" takes up 1/3 of the dang book. I really liked it when it had 3-4 articles from hank parker, Ike, Etc.

I got my new Bassin' last week. Different for sure, looks to be heading in the right direction, hopefully they keep it going that way.
