Need Help Identifying A Fish Please...

Featured Replies

I caught this on a local NC lake and need some help identifying it. Unfortuately, when I tried to hold the fish up for the camera, it lept out of my hands and back into the lake.

Can anyone identify this fish during the catch? Pike or Pickerel possibly?

Thanks,

Jason

Couldn't get a real good look at it, but from the length and girth I would say it's probably a chain pickerel.

yep, i also think that its a pickerel

It didn't have teeth like I expected it to. It looked like someone took a largemouth bass and squished it through a Play Dough Fun Factory. The jaw had an elongated shape and it cut my line IN the kayak, ha!

Pickerel it is! First one ever! Kind of stoked about that to be honest.

pickeral can be a blast to catch, seems like there is always more than one, and they are typically very eager to hit your offering.

That looked to be a nice pickerel at that!!

there are pickeral all over the lakes in central pa you can't go bass fishing without catching some pickeral, some lakes have more pickeral than bass in my area
