  1. On the weekend I'm an XRay Tech in a Trauma Center. During the week I'm a fishing guide for The Kingfisher Society. I also run a Boy Scout Troop of 43 boys and 15 adults. Oh, and I make a few fishing videos.
  2. My 97' F150 has 260,000 miles My 94' Toyota Corolla has 245,000 miles. We bought it in 01' for $4000 and it only had 75,000 miles. It has been the best buy I've ever made. My wife's 05' Toyota Senna has 135,000 miles.
  3. Bassh8er, Thanks for your feedback we do appreciate it. I have big hands and I tend to hold my handles fairly loose in most cases. I started using Reel Grips shortly after they came out on the market and now I don't go without them. They fix the problems I have with all standard sized grips.
  4. I've been using the same Okuma Reels for going on 8 years now. Even with as much as I've used and abused them I've never had a problem with them. We've had to replace half of the Shimanos that I guide with due to mechanical issues. And they were less than two years old.
  5. Don't I know you from somewhere? If not you have a twin running around Georgia. Welcome to the forums.
  6. "It Happens"
  7. That's an awesome story. I can't wait till this Thurs and Fri. I've got a group of wounded warriors coming down and the weather is going to be perfect.
  8. All hooks are made from wire.

  10. Welcome to the family
  11. The only way I know how to tell is to stick your finger down the fish's throat while squeezing his belly and sweep the contents out. This was taught to me by a fisheries biologist.
  12. Mike, It's all I use now. I love my GoPro. It's the Hero2 The only cons I can think of is it doesn't zoom, and I had to buy several extras so I could get it to do what I needed it to. I will have my set-up at the BR Roadtrip if you want to take a look at it or you can call me any time and we'll talk about he details.
  13. You just gave me an idea for that old Quilt rack I made my wife that she never uses. Thanks for posting this.
  14. Welcome to Bass Resource. It's pretty cool having another guy here from Evans. I was also stationed in Hawaii before PCSing to Ft. Gordon. Then I ETSed in 2002 and stayed here. I love this place. I'm from Covington so I know how nice it is to have family close when your in the service. The back of Ft Gordon has about 20 great lakes. I used to love to fish them every chance I got. If you ever want to see the banks of Clarks Hill from the opposite angle just hit me up and we'll try to put something together.
  15. Welcome to BassResource and welcome to the family.
  16. As long as I think a bass can fit under the mat I'll punch it. 1 foot or 10 feet it doesn't matter.
  17. That DSI 5 was exactly what I was going to recommend. It's a great unit. But, What you say you want and what you are willing to spend aren't even in the same ballpark. If you want Structure Scan and Down Scan and GPS and standard sonar you are going to pay at least 1000 and as much as 3000 for those units. Lowrance just came out with the DSI 7. It looks like an incredible deal for what you get. At 700 it's a little out of your budget but what you get is well worth the money. If you don't need the GPS and mapping it's only 550. The wide screen is something you just don't see in a unit at that price. Then add the Down Scan and the GPS and then you can overlay the Standard Sonar with the Down Scan and get better detail. I just ordered one to go on the front of my boat. I can't wait to install it and get it out on the water.
  18. Well I've been on the fence about going this year. But 00Mod knocked me off. So I'm going. Mike, I'm bringing my boat and Jeff has at least one day with me. Other than that I have an open seat and I'd like to enter the draw every evening.
  19. YES!!!! I love mine. It only takes me a couple of passes through an area to decide weather to stop and fish or go somewhere else.
  20. Sam, He said he was on a budget. If you can afford it then it's the best fishing experience you will ever have. It's located just north of the South Carolina, North Carolina state line. The average bass is 5lbs and the average bluegill is 1 1/2lbs. The bass in my profile pic is and average bass on that lake. Everything is 5 star and you will be treated like royalty but you pay of that treatment.
  21. Each has it's place. I love a light Mojo to fish submerged vegetation. A C-Rig is great for covering a large area both shallow or deep and a large Mojo Weight is great for use as the sinker on a C-Rig.
  22. Please note that it has never been against the policies of Bass Resource for a sponsored angler to answer questions about their sponsors product. We have always allowed it. If they would have come here and started a thread about Seaguar then we would have to have a talk with them. Thanks for your response guys. I have been looking for a new braid and was wondering about Kazen.
